Elgin Toyota is THE WORST car dealership I've ever had interaction or business with - beware of this dealership, because all they care about is sell you a car without good conscience or caring about the interaction or business with - beware of this dealership, because all they care about is sell you a car without good conscience or caring about the customer's experience (relationship) or value & vision. The leadership team there are way out of order, especially the Sales/Business team and management (Imran Aneesuddin) - they are masters in cajoling and manipulating customers to adding some useless services and packages/programs to your initial intention of going there for a car. Moreover; they lack follow up - like I mentioned earlier, their only interest is making you buy a car (even out of your will, choice, or intentions), and thereafter, they will NEVER PICK YOUR CALL again. On leaving their dealership location after your purchase, they give you business cards and false promises or assurance to contact them when in need or with any questions or concerns, whereas that's all lies & fraud - you will call, email, text forever, and they won't pick up, respond, follow up or follow through with your request. I am sooooo upset with my experience there from last year August 27, 2020 when I purchased a brand new 2020 Toyota Rav4 XSE Hybrid - they make me add packages I never wanted, and assured that I could call and canceled anytime. However, that's all lies and deceit because I couldn't get hold of anyone thereafter, and I'm stuck with the bills - terrible! More

A $2500 "paint protection" plan?!?!? Based on my research, this is illegal! How this place is in business is beyond me. Well I guess it's in Illinois where there isn't much consumer protection, so you shouldn't be surprised. There are dozens of other Toyota dealerships in the Chicagoland area, I can't imagine you can have a worse experience than the Elgin one. More

The worst car buying experience I have ever had! It has been a month since my purchase and my trade-in still isn't paid off! I have been lied to several times! Dishonest, opaque and shady business model.Stay away Dishonest, opaque and shady business model. Stay away and don't fall for the trap of needing to buy the "Pro pack" aka "Pathetic Pack". Not worth Dishonest, opaque and shady business model. Stay away and don't fall for the trap of needing to buy the "Pro pack" aka "Pathetic Pack". Not worth the money, anything they say is a lie. If anything get it in writing or they'll make you think you're crazy. So bad, the guy Bob handed me off to 'close the deal' isn't even listed on this site. Wow. I'm ashamed I decided to do business with this company. I'm surprised Toyota continues to let them sell for them. Too Long, Didn't Read? DO NOT GET THE PRO_PACK IT IS A SHAM. On 12/24/2020, at the urging of my mother, a 70yr old woman, I proceeded to help her buy a car she was interested in from Elgin Toyota. We found this car on cargurus.com. It's VIN is 4T1J31AK6LU014088. Cargurus originally had it listed on their site as a CPO Toyota Camry Hybrid 2020 SE. It was listed for $23,990 as CPO on Carguru's site. I called on 12/24, and was unable to speak to anyone. After all it was Christmas Eve! But alas, they were open, and surely busy. So I left a voicemail about interest in this car for sale (listed since Oct 2020). On 12/26, Bob Keissami returned my call telling me the car was for sale, and that I should call him back. Unfortunately I wasn't able to connect at that time, so we played phone tag. Finally towards the end of the day, I got a hold of Bob. It only took 3 more calls. He explain the following: 1) Car is for sale, but it is NOT CPO per CG website. They only 'scrape' data, blahblahblah, and that Elgin is NOT responsible for the accuracy of the data on CarGurus website. I found that odd. He then proceeded to tell me the car is eligible to be CPO, and that in order to get it, we'd have to pay for the ProPack. I ask what's included in the ProPack. He said 'underbody coat, exterior+interior ceramic coating, rust proofing, and a warranty that covers 5 yrs outside of the just powertrain warranty provided by Toyota's normal CPO'. I tell him I'd get back to him that day/next day. The next day I look at the listing on CG again, and this time the CPO flag is removed! Shocking. Elgin isn't liable for the inaccuracy, but they sure can update it timely. Hmmm.... So then I point out to Bob later that the other car (black sister car to this red one) also has the CPO flag, we'd like to buy that one. He says, neither is CPO. I found that doubly odd, but surely this isn't a scam. Shortly thereafter, that listing was ALSO updated to remove the CPO flag. Sigh...if this isn't a sign of WALK AWAY, I don't know what is. An evening passes and I push forward at the urging of my mother. About 10 attempts ensure to get Bob on the line, but eventually we get a hold of this guy. In hindsight, I realize it's probably because he's updating all the MISLEADING websites they listed to get ignorant buyers on the line. At this point, I should note: it's impossible to find a sales email or direct phone number for the guy. Odd, general sales manager is only reachable thru the main secretary. Spoiler alert: I now know why, he doesn't want to be on record for anything he says or writes. But once you get him on email; oh boy, the tone changes and you'll get a "no I didn't say this, or that". We eventually, after a heck of a time getting a hold of his then deputy Mike Schramm get moving to close the deal. Between 12/28 and 12/29 a few calls transpire, and at one point I ask what all's included in the ProPack? Why is it so expensive? They mention that it's because it offers a warranty on top of the powertrain from Toyota, it also provides the coatings Bob mentioned and it's required to get the CPO. I relent, fine. If it comes with the CPO, and this awesome coating and additional warranty, that's fine. Fast-forward: 1. Toyota warranty card does NOT have the right spelling of my mom's name. 2. Docs have not been filed yet with Texas, so we cannot register. Apparently it takes 30 whole days to get this paperwork filed, which is absurd. And they did it WRONG. They charge you $400 for this. Wow. That's 10 hours for paperwork at a $80k salary. What's wrong with this company? 3. The undercoating and rust-proofing is a SCAM, they don't do this. They say they do, but GET IT IN WRITING. Because afterwards, they'll say, oh no we don't do that, we haven't done that for years. So there's no way we could have offered that. I have no proof other than what I know I heard. And again, there's nothing in writing. Shame on me. 4. Worst yet: the warranty card comes, there's no mention of ProPack, and there's no mention of this additional warranty Elgin Toyota sold. It's a shame, a real shame this company is willing to take $$ so easily from a retiree. They warranty they then share is just a paint/interior stain warranty. That's all it is. Who pays 7% vehicle mark up for a paint discoloration / cloth stain warranty? Apparently we got conned into doing so. I email Bob, tell him about the discrepancies for 3 and 4. He effectively says it's all in my head. Great salesman. I'm ashamed we spent $1590 (which btw he quoted as $1500 cause it's the best he could do, and I let it slide when I saw it as $1590 on the sales sheet), AND the $400 in doc fee when it's still pending nearly 30 days later. 12/29-1/21 still not complete. There's legit reasons for the 1 star More
