Looked up online from Dayton, Ohio. Called and spoke with Elgin Toyota's sales team. They told me the price and said there were no reserves, so I had to come all the way down there just to buy it. I asked for that quote in writing and they sent me the quote of 46,504. I flew out the next morning from Dayton, Ohio to Chicago, Illinois. That morning once I had arrived, the devils took off their mask and not only did they not uphold their quote, but told me they were charging me 51,000 (3k above msrp) then said I had to buy a clean car warranty. Who was it who treated me this way? Not just some rep. A so-called manager named Ricky. Worst human I've ever met. He lied with a grin knowing I had already traveled all the way from Dayton to get this deal done as he snaked every piece of the quote (I had in hand) off the table. I feel like it should be illegal to send someone a quote and not stand by it. These people were such a horrific nightmare that I hope I never have to work with a dealership again. Why should consumers have to go through this trash to purchase your vehicles Toyota? I will never forget what Elgin Toyota did to me, and if you have any sense, you'll go somewhere else and let this place run out of business like a bad business deserves. I'm contacting the better business bureau. More
Beware they charge more than what the sticker on the car says. The salesman tried and kept pushing this “protection plan” for 4 grand. We declined it and asked for the price without it. His manager came out since we refused their plan. He then told us he would take $1000 off the plan if we bought it. We said no again and he then informed us it is already included into the car and not optional. He made up something along the lines of “we already certified it and put it through inspection so you have to pay this”. (Why would you not include that on the sticker price?!) We then leaves angrily because it is clear cut scam and false advertising. One of the worst experiences. More

Every conversation was answered with either “I can’t do that” or “ I have to talk to my manager”. And I use the word conversation sarcastically because this guy talked over me constantly. He also doesn’t know what he’s talking about although he claimed to be there for years. I asked if they had an Hyundai Elantra in their used car stock and he pulled up Nissan on the screen. When I mentioned an Elantra was a Hyundai he yelled that it wasn’t. I pursued the purchase since cars are hard to come by and he said he had to check whether we would even qualify. Excuse me? Then he comes back with the car paperwork with the price of the car handwritten on a piece of paper, adding $4000 for extended warranty. We said we weren’t interested in the insurance and he said he couldn’t remove it. It was handwritten! That’s when he got his manager to come over and push the same extended warranty. I asked if he was telling me the car wasn’t available without the warranty and he said no, but it wouldn’t affect the monthly payments. Quoted a high interest rate and high payments. We walked out. By the way, we purchased the same car someplace else, same price and payments half of what they quoted, AND with a fantastic, customer service driven experience to boot. Save yourself some time and aggravation - - don’t bother with this place. The fact that they respond to most reviews the same also shows their interest in what anyone thinks. And to the store....let me save you some time : “Elgin Toyota responded: Our team has acknowledged this review”. Whatever. More
There is one thing I see as a common issue here in the negative reviews and that is Bob. We were already to purchase a car today. Then one by one a sales manager would come over. Basically stating that we don’t have an option YOU HAVE TO BUY It so all of a sudden the car the car is 4000 more! When they knew what we wanted to pay BEFORE the test drive, before the credit application and before being there 2 hours already! I get it’s a sellers market but that is totally dishonest!!! You tell that to your customers BEFORE they give you all their information!!! Bob is not interested in making customers happy! He is interested in smiling and saying “ you don’t like it go somewhere else”! Well guess what Bob there will be a day when you are full of cars and people will not come back to you because you are a rude and arrogant just as the other sales managers were that came by us!!!! I am being told the owner is making them have people purchase this!!!! It’s wrong and deceptive to do it AFTER you have someone fill out an application! More
Stay Away From this dealership Shady Tactic’s. Before even going there I made sure and asked for all itemized numbers and even asked is there any other packages that are associated with the vehicle. But nope there’s $3995 additional charges that will be added weather you like it or not. They will try to put you in. Even for the current TOYOTA INCENTIVES I had to tell that it’s 1.9% on the vehicle otherwise if you don’t know you end up 2.9%. I’ll get the vehicle but not coming again to this Dealership. Will make sure to call TOYOTA CORPORATE and express my experience. There’s a BIG Reason that still 2.8 Stars More

I bought my 2019 Highlander here and had issues when I bought with the sales team. The manager did make it right. Today I was deceived by a service tech. When I was leaving I confronted him about it and he said I signed for it. I could have signed over my first born. Never had I had issues like this in the past.
