Hi Mike, I apologize about your frustrations. There are many different things that can cause a battery to die including age, extreme cold/heat, accidently leaving the lights on, etc. With that being said, we don't typically offer to replace batteries for free due to the human error that can cause it to fail, however we did offer a complimentary replacement for you contingent upon you getting the vehicle towed here which your insurance typically takes care of depending on the coverage you have set up with them. Unfortunately, you chose to take the vehicle elsewhere. Additionally, it's likely that the check engine light came on due to a mistake that was made when the battery was installed and since it wasn't installed here, we have taken it to Cadillac to get the problem diagnosed. I apologize again for your frustration, and we will keep you in the loop on the status of your vehicle when we know more.
