This happened just prior to the 100,000 mile warranty expiration. I took it in again when it persisted, just slightly after the 100,000 mile warranty expired and the problem was diagnosed as a broken crankshaft pulley bolt. They also gave us the impression that they knew if was probably this problem when we brought it in originally. I was furious but what can you do. Now, years later, I receive a class action lawsuit notice about this very problem. Bad news is that I have sense tossed the receipt to prove that I had to pay the $1,000+ repair bill. I had visit another Kia service center, until I learned there was a Kia service center closer to home. I was very satisfied with El Monte's Service Center, they were very friendly and very detailed in diag there was a Kia service center closer to home. Irma G is the name of the person who issues the checks for refunds at Kia of El Monte. She is giving me the run around and worst. When I first called, she told me that she knew that they received the pa for refunds at Kia of El Monte. She is giving me the run around and worst. When I first called, she told me that she knew that they received the payment from the insurance company for my warranty but she couldn't find the record or something to that effect. I thought that was lame, however, I gave her a chance. She then told me she was going to call me on Friday, December the 10th and that my check should be ready then. She didn't call on Friday, the 10th. I called yesterday, the Monday, the 13th and she told me the same excuse, she still couldn't find the record. So I told her that that wasn't my problem. I want my check. She then said that it should be ready after 5:00 pm. I told her that I work at 4:30 p.m. I asked, how about tomorrow, December 14th? She said, yes. Just come in anytime after 10:00 a.m., your check will be ready. Today, is Tuesday, December 14, Before I went to Kia of El Monte, I called Irma and asked if my check was ready, she said yes, just come in. This was about 10:15 am. I arrived at Kia of El Monte around 10:30 a.m. They asked me to wait and have a sit. Irma came to ask me if my refund was for cap/gap? or the warranty? I was baffled. I thought my check was ready. And how can she not know at this point what it is that I'm getting a refund for? Clearly, this lady is doing all she can to irritate me and make me miserable. She returns with a check for $729.50. She then asked if I was still paying car payments to the bank. I said yes. She then picked up the check and said, "I made a mistake then. This money goes to the bank." I told her, no. I bought the warranty separately. She then made some smart remarks about no more warranty coverage that if something happens, it is on me. To which I ignored. I deposited the check right away to my credit union. Right after I left my credit union, I received a call from Irma. I was driving and my phone was in my purse so I didn't answer the call and had no idea it was Irma. She left a message telling me that she had made a mistake with the check and not to deposit it; that they are going to put a stop payment on it. That I need to go back to the dealer and get the correct check. How far is she going to go with this? The people who work at Kia of El Monte are xxxx, the lowest of the lowest. Liars!!! I took my car in for an oil change and my card was over charged $333. The service manager showed no concern about the mistake he maid and jist said my money would be back into my account in 2-3 business da charged $333. Well it hadn't been deposited in my account yet and it's thursday the 14th.so I call them today and george sermeno the service manager is disputing it saying his bank didn't end up charging the $333 from my account, that I need to fax him a statement showing the charge. This is outragous since he said the day this happened that it would be reunded, and now he's saying there's nothing to refund in contradiction.my account is negative because of this and I've missed my rentt payment and still don't have the $333 now to pay it and don't know when i'll get the moneey..this has been a nightmre.i onlyy went in for an oil change..and this is wut I got..the worse dealerdhip in all of southern california.please anyonea and everyone DO NOT.i repeat for your own well being,. DO NOT go to KIA of EL MONTE for any reason!!!!! More
Purchased a car from them. I knew my credit was no good and they insisted that we try and buy car with my credit. They kept insisting and I wanred to leave and come back with my cosigner. They continued to push the sale because of my income. They told me not to worry bout it that I would get approved. Within two days of me having the car they couldn't get anyone to approve me for the sale. I then turned to my cosigner to sign for the car but she couldn't do it until sept 1st. I then received threats bout them coming to pick up the car at my job and humiliate me like that at work. It was not my fault they let me drive off with the car. They have change their whole attitude towards me. They treated me like dirt. When I left the dealership with my new car my gas tank was 1/4 full. When I returned the car it was full tank. I asked to get a voucher for the difference on the gas. Kevin the manager then responded with, "you did borrow my car". I told him with an upset voice, "no, u sold me the car". I bought the car. I left them a 5000 dollar deposit. It has been a battle to return my money back to me. It has been 3 weeks and they still owe me 2300 dollars. I will not recommend this dealer ship to anyone. They start off nice but then become liars, cruel and not trust worthy. Makes me wonder if kia dealers run their business like this. At this point I am affraid to do business with any kia dealer. Can't believe these people work and represent kia cars. The kia sorrento is a beautiful car. I loved the car. Don't know if in the future can deal with any kia dealer. Buyer beware of kia dealership of el monte. More
Sales manager with an attitude. Cocky. Car was delivered in poor condition with window stickers removed but not the glue. Floor mats had not been placed. No license plate frame.
