First of all, I had a delightful email exchange with John Mai - before I came to the dealership. When I went to the dealership - I was held captive all day while they tried to locate the vehicle I wanted .. Mai - before I came to the dealership. When I went to the dealership - I was held captive all day while they tried to locate the vehicle I wanted ... instead of just letting me go home and notifying me know when they had succeeded. They had me sign the paperwork after being at the dealership for 7+ hours. My vehicle was promised for the next day - or "2 at the most". After never receiving any communication for 2 days - when I attempted to call - I could not get through to anyone I had dealt with, no calls or emails were returned - for another day and then I was told it would be another day or two. I was then called the next day and told I could come in and pick up my car - this was about an hour before closing and they knew I had about a 2 hour drive to get there. So, it was decided that I would pick the car up the next day - while driving up I received a call that a part still needed to be installed on the vehicle and the person to do it had called out sick - so, I could pick up the vehicle that day and take it back in the next day for the install or pick it up the next day ... or 6 days after signing the paperwork. There was never an apology for the extended delay (or any reply to my request for some sort of compensation for the wait and lack of communication) - and little in the way of communication. I did have another delightful experience with John when I finally picked up the vehicle. However, since then - when reading through the documents which were signed late on the first night - I have found a few issues ... which to this point (4 days) no one has bothered to communicate with me regarding. I am about to contact 7 On Your Side to get assistance in dealing with this dealership. I think they are not trustworthy. I also think they are not interested in contacting me - knowing that I will not be driving 80 or more miles each way to service my car at the dealership ... they just wanted the sale. More
Another great visit to Honda of El Cerrito's service department. I made my appointment online to have a B 1 2 service and possibly brakes. My only complaint would be that I did request somebody to get back to me with a quote on anticipated costs and nobody did. I guess nobody reads those service appointment requests. However, that is my ONLY complaint and why they got dinged from a 5 to a 4 on customer service. Otherwise, the experience was what I had come to expect from the service department. Easy drop off, Rodney was very friendly and helpful with writing up the quote. They always look at what coupons I have brought to see how I can get the best deal. He gave me an anticipated time for the work to be completed and called with an update at that time and to request authorization to have additional work done. And while I would not say they are probably the cheapest option, I always feel that the price is fair - and as they say you get what you pay for! Honda El Cerrito is not the closest honda service to where I live, but I continue to go back for their fantastic customer service. If only they could get someone to look at those online appointments to answer questions or comments! More

I know he acted in my best interest by having the authority to resolve my questions. Rodney's performance and efficiency are excellent. Honda in El Cerrito gave me better business resources and services and so easy to do business with, And Rodney, one of the Honda of El Cerrito employees, made me feel respected and special. Honda of El Cerrito has the personality of a company I'd like to do business with because it has a strong, positive image. I trust Honda El Cerrito and its potentials in making its customers satisfied. More

I was a little disappointed with the fact that it took over 7 hours to check my brakes, but I do want to be fair and say that there were many cars that were lined up before me when I got there and Paul di over 7 hours to check my brakes, but I do want to be fair and say that there were many cars that were lined up before me when I got there and Paul did put me as a priority, but it still took longer than I had hoped. Nonetheless, I still think this could have happened anywhere. The 5 star rating is because at the end, the job was done and the attitude of everyone I dealt with was superb (especially Paul Forte). And yes, I would, and shall, return to this dealership. More
I needed a quick oil change. The quick change drive-through was closed, but I got in and out in about forty minutes. Wayne came to tell me I needed new windshield wipers and a new battery, and sh drive-through was closed, but I got in and out in about forty minutes. Wayne came to tell me I needed new windshield wipers and a new battery, and showed me a test proving the battery was 75% gone . . . otherwise I would not have purchased the battery. The coffee was reasonable (need to have decaf) and the waiting room was pleasant. As I know nothing about cars I have to take their word for what I need, but the car is ten years old so it probably DID need a battery. More

The service is excellent and efficient. Plus they sent me an email about a coupon for a great deal on oil changes. Went by and signed up for that deal and the employee was efficient and professional.
