I have one leg partially amputated and an osteoarthritic knee on my other leg, so getting in and out of my low-slung sedan was getting difficult. The sedan also had over 170,000 miles on it and was beginning to nickel and dime us. Plus, we needed more luggage space to haul our granddaughter and her softball gear around the country. So, my wife and I began looking at SUVs. We had been to several other dealers representing several other manufacturers, but had not pulled the trigger yet. Then we stopped by Baxters to check out their Chrysler products. That is where we met Darnell Griffin. We told him what we were looking for - and why - and he showed us several options, allowing us to drive each one. He even took us to another Baxter dealership to show us some Ford SUVs just to be sure we had seen as many alternatives as possible befor we made a decision. Finally, he suggested we look at a Jeep product, although we were not enthusiastic about it because we had stereotyped Jeeps as ugly, boxy things. He introduced us to a 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee, which was great, but we had been hoping to get a good deal on a new 2010 vehicle because our experience with other dealers convinced us that a 2011 would be far too expensive. Darnell was extremely patient with us - we took up the better part of two days of his time - but the end result was that he put us into a wonderful, new, 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee for what other dealers had been trying to charge us for 2010 pre-owned SUVs with 17,000+ miles on them! In the past, buying a new car has been worse than going to the dentist, but Darnell made this experience so downright enjoyable that we knew we had to "do something" to show him our appreciation, so we bought 3 dozen cookies from a gourmet cookie outlet in town and delivered them to him at work the next day. We will definitely recommend him to anyone we know who is looking to buy a car! And, by the way, the rest of the staff we met at Baxters, including the supervisors, were also very pleasant to deal with - so I hope he shared his cookies! Color us HAPPY! Jim & Lois Sackett More
After a couple of not so great experiences with the service department I had the pleasure of working with Randy Hamling. My service took longer than anticipated due to circumstances beyond the dealership's control, but he kept me updated every step of the way and did everything he could to make sure that any inconvenience to me was kept to a minimum. Before working with Randy I was ready to give up on the concept of customer service, but he has renewed my faith that there are great people out there that genuinely care about their customers!! Keep up the awesome work Randy!! More

I bought a brand new jeep grand cherokee and the passenger door would not open after only 2 months owning. Performance is where I bought it and they said they could not get it in for 5 days. My wife had to crawl over the council every time we went somewhere that day. I even purchased the prepaid oil and service changes with a loaner. Randy understood my delema after only one phone call. 4 times to Performance. Got me in right away and had a loaner within the hour. He is the BEST! Thanks Randy for your understanding. I locked my keys in my vehicle one day and called Baxter to see if they would be able to assist. Randy in service took the call and he was able to make a valet key for my van and was also gracious enough t to see if they would be able to assist. Dick was kind enough to wait for me to see if I was able to unlock the door. If it was not for them, my husband would of had to drive over 1 hour to bring the extra set of keys to me. Their service was outstanding! This is just one of the reasons why I will never go anywhere else for service. Keep up the wonderful work. More

Because my family members that usually take the Jeep in for servicing were ill the job fell to me. I had been to Baxters but never to find the service area. I worried all the way there that I would go the wrong way but to my pleasant surprise the way to the service area was clearly marked. After I got there the salesmen in the service department directed me where to leave the vehicle. Randy was most helpful. He told me exactly how long it would take to complete the work, showed me where to wait and told me to help myself to a cup of coffee. While I was waiting a nice man came into the area and asked if anyone needed to be taken anywhere as he was leaving to run errands. Everyone was comfortable watching television, visiting and drinking coffee. When my vehicle was done Randy came to get me and asked if I needed any help and showed me where my vehicle had been parked. I was treated most courteously in a professional manner. I will recommend this dealership whenever asked for service as well as new vehicles. More
