Sales fraud / Bait-n-Switch / False Advertising In the search to purchase a new vehicle for our daughter, my wife & I researched on 2/12/16 an advertised sale on the website of Kingdom Kia in Rolla, In the search to purchase a new vehicle for our daughter, my wife & I researched on 2/12/16 an advertised sale on the website of Kingdom Kia in Rolla, MO for a new 2015 Kia Optima LX offered at $16,860 (website ad still available as of 2/16/16 at 4:00p). Interested, we placed a phone call on 2/12/16 at 2:23p and spoke with Brittany Guerrette who is the Kingdom Kia Internet Sales Manager. We spoke at length with her about this vehicle, confirmed availability, pricing, options, rebates offered, etc. Brittany wanted to verify everything with the floor sales manager, so she offered to call us back once everything was confirmed. She called us back 2/12/16 at 3:07p and confirmed availability of the advertised new black Kia Optima 4DR SDN LX for $16,860 and that we qualified for all the rebates shown/offered. She also said that she had availability of a white 2016 Kia Optima LX with the features we were interested just rolling off a truck and still shrink-wrapped that they would offer for the same rebates making the car $16,830 out the door. We were also interested in this vehicle, and Brittany said she would verify the deal and availability with Damon Bartz, the floor Sales Manager). Brittany called back 2/12/16 at 5:32p and said she confirmed with Damon availability of both vehicles at the confirmed prices shown above. We made an appointment for the next morning 2/13/16 at 10:00a and Brittany emailed us a confirmation and confirmation code. The next morning on 2/13/16 at 9:33a, I called and spoke with Brittany to confirm both cars were still available for us to test drive, re-confirmed the pricing, and verified we would be driving from Ozark MO to Rolla MO to test-drive/purchase the advertised black 2015 Kia Optima LX. She confirmed and said she was looking forward to seeing us in a few. With my wife & daughter in tow, we took off work and the three of us drove the 125 miles to Rolla, was met by Damon Bartz the Sales Manager. After introductions, he immediately said he wouldn’t honor the deal on the 2016 white Kia Optima and preceded to hard-sale us on a new 2016 Kia Optima for $21,470, $4,610 more than the advertised price and the price we had agreed on through our "confirmation." We asked to see the other negotiated deal 2015 black Kia Optima shown on the internet for $16,860, and after waiting 30 minutes for Damon to come back, he said that car was not available to sell as it was a “service vehicle.” Damon then tried to hard sell us on a different used 2011 Kia with 40K miles that he said he would try to negotiate the price to get it in our ball-park. We re-asked multiple times about the either of the deals that Brittany confirmed with us and Damon said he would not honor the 2016 deal and he couldn't sell us the advertised vehicle. I asked to speak with Brittany and/or to have her come out from her hidden office in the back to speak with us and at least apologize to us, and Brett said “well, that’s not gonna happen.” Brett then asked us to leave the dealership with a parting statement of “…and don’t come back.” More

On the lot we were greeted by Erik, who was professional and curteous. He answered all out questions and we left the dealership with two possible vehicles to purchase. A few days later I was looking at those two cars online and saw that one of them was eligible for additional incentives under their "Halloween Spooktacular Savings Event" and it stated to call Brittany for more details. I called and was told that the additional incentives were dependant on credit rating and that if I come in I should ask for Damion, so I went back to have my credit ran in order to see what additional incentives I qualify for. Erik meet us there but told us that that promotion did not apply. I asked to speak to a manager who told me that the incentive meant that the car would soon be going to auction. After hearing 3 different versions I asked to speak to Damon, who was a manager. Damon said he had no idea what that promotion was, and then admitted to my wife that he "does half xxx work." I had been previously warned that this dealership is notorious for making half xxx offers to get you in the door and then back peddle out of them. This dealership is a pure scam from the management level on down. More
