Oh no, a young driver smashed into our MDX at 50 MPH!! In 2014 we came in to buy a new MDX. It was a great car. Two years later a young teen driver ran a stop sign and smashed into my wife and son. Th In 2014 we came in to buy a new MDX. It was a great car. Two years later a young teen driver ran a stop sign and smashed into my wife and son. The car was not a totaled but it did do about $16,000 dollars of damage and the airbags deployed. They were bruised but not seriously hurt. We took the car to the body shop and it would be several weeks to get it all repaired as it was rather extensive. During this time my wife was voicing her concern that even though it would be completely repaired she worried something wouldn't work right, or the airbags wouldn't be right. I came in and talked to Gabe about it, and he said "we can fix that, let's just get her in a new 2016 MDX". I told him our car was still in their body shop on Shadeland. How can we trade it?? He said no problem, he would take the car as is, finish fixing it, and let us trade out of it while still wrecked in their body shop!! The teen's families insurance had already approved it being totally fixed, and it was being fixed at Ed Martin's shop, so he said they would take the responsibility to finish everything up. He made us an extremely fair deal to trade us out of the wrecked car, into a brand new, 2 year newer MDX. I called my wife and told her to bring the rental, that Gabe was getting us a new MDX rental while the body shop finished the final work. (She didn't know he made us such a good deal she was getting a brand new MDX) He was very upfront though about the wrecked car and he would not be able to retail that at his dealership, it would have to be run through the auction as having the airbags deployed. When we got in it I asked how many miles we could put on the "rental". He said as many as you want, and you can keep it as long as you want. (Because it wasn't a rental at all, it was her brand new un-wrecked MDX!) He even arranged for someone to bring us all our items and personal belongings out of the wrecked car, so that when we finished the paperwork, he had our plate, and everything in from all the cubbies loaded in the new vehicle. This was outstanding, and beyond anything we could have expected. It saved us also approximately 3 more weeks in a rental car. I've purchased many cars from the local dealers over the past 40 years, and this was the single best experience we have ever had. Bob and Annie Auer More
