Due to some unexpected personal events in 2022, we needed to trade in our 2019 Subaru Ascent for something else, since we didn't owe anything on it and needed the equity in cash. Anyhow, after looking all over for several days, we finally found what we thought was the perfect trade at Ed Carroll Porsche. It should have been a red flag when our sales person could tell us nothing about the vehicle we were purchasing, as it wasn't a Porsche (more or less his words). Anyhow, while we fully understand that we could have gotten it looked at before purchasing it, we have never had to do that with any other pre-owned vehicle that we have ever owned and we trusted the dealership. Big mistake! We have never had problems with used vehicles we have purchased as-is. With this one though, we have done nothing but fix things. When the first issue occurred within 2 weeks of purchasing it (a part/fan that didn't even fit in the vehicle that caused it to overheat profusely while out of town for my dads funeral), our sales person said we were more than welcome to bring it back in and trade it for something else, us obviously being responsible for the difference in cost. If we had extra money, we wouldn't have needed to trade in our Subaru in the first place, something that he was well aware of. Then, about 2 months after purchasing, we had to replace the alternator. In the last month, we have replaced the alternator (again, but luckily a warranty trade), the battery, the power steering pump assembly, the air intake hose, and some random screws that were just missing. If they would actually run their used vehicles through a quick diagnostic check, this wouldn't have been an issue and a huge expense for us. It still won't stay running. I have been without a running vehicle going on 3 weeks now and since my job depends on me being able to drive part of the time, I am losing money. I will never purchase from an Ed Carroll lot or recommend them to others. In fact, I have done and will continue to do quite the opposite. They should not be selling pre-owned vehicles if they cannot bother to have them seen by their mechanics (which from some comments would probably be useless anyhow) and know a thing or two about what you are selling. You know, since that's their job and all. Also, a side note, they got a great vehicle from the trade that they actually gave me a hard time about because of a few small paint dings and the miles. I drive a lot for work. That was all that was 'wrong' with the Subaru. I kick myself everyday for deciding that trading that vehicle in was our only option. More

John Crum at Ed Carroll VW put my mind at ease over features on my Tiguan. He reassured me that when I came in he would go over the features with me and do what he could to get me comfortable with my features on my Tiguan.
