We helped my son to buy a 2021 RAV4 today. We saw an online price and drove 90 miles to test drive and purchase the car. We sat down with Dexter to review the paperwork for purchase. The price was $1700 more than we expected From the online price. They took the paperwork away after we questioned it and came back with a price that was $699 more we questioned this and they said it was for a Perma plate protection application. I indicated we did not want this and we want to purchase The car for the advertise price. Then Ben came out to explain things to us and there was no getting out of the 699 up charge. Then Chris came out and he also would not negotiate on the 699 up charge price for this thing called Perma plate. Chris said if we didn’t want the car we could leave and he confiscated the paperwork which I had been taking notes on. I myself was ready to walk over the 699 increase in price. My son and wife was paying for the car so they still wanted it. This is a poor way of doing business to attack on an extra $699 to every car and force you to pay it if you want that car, they do not indicate any part of the 699 up charge in the original online listing you need to go through the Buy online features to find out that they tack on 699 to every car. many of us know used car dealers are not known as being honest. This also is an indication of why when a car dealer needs to tack on extra charges to make more money.. In addition, this car comes only one key remote and we need to go spend $550 at the Toyota dealer to get an extra key remote. The car also has dangerous front tires and we need to spend $900 on new tires. there were no owners manuals included with the car. More
