They advertise 0% financing it’s a scam to get you in the door! When it came time to discuss pricing on a 2025 Outback touring XT I was told there’s no room for negotiating at 0% and why? The salesman told door! When it came time to discuss pricing on a 2025 Outback touring XT I was told there’s no room for negotiating at 0% and why? The salesman told me because the dealer is paying down the loan!! In other words they’re paying the interest on the loan and basically marking up the car! What a dishonest sneaky and undermining thing to do. I went to South Shore Subaru the follow day. They worked with me on the price of a new outback as well as gave me a stellar amount for my trade in! More
Very Frustrating Experience I realize that I'm going against the trend of reviews here, but unfortunately, I have to give a negative review for East Hills Subaru in Roslyn, NY. I've been looking at S against the trend of reviews here, but unfortunately, I have to give a negative review for East Hills Subaru in Roslyn, NY. I've been looking at Subaru Outbacks for a while, and decided to go ahead and get one. Based on my research and our requirements, I know exactly what model and trim line I'm looking for, including exterior and interior colors. I have found that exact vehicle at another dealer, but that dealer is in NYC, which is at least an hour's drive from where I live in Port Washington. I could just go there, but then that's a lot of driving, different sales tax rates, and taking the car for dealer service would be a great burden. In short, I would much rather work with a local dealer, for convenience, to support local business, and because that would allow me to start developing a relationship which, given the complexity of modern cars, will be important. Based on the reviews here, and in particular the way that Phil Wolhar constructively responds to each complaint - he takes complaints seriously, he does his homework, and if it was the fault of the dealership, he takes ownership of the problem and proposes a constructive solution - I wanted to deal with them because of that. Today I went to East Hills. I know that I'm asking for some special treatment, given that the car I want is not in the East Hills inventory, but I did not expect to be given the bum's rush and constantly pushed into the "let's find your monthly payment" game. I'm not going to mention the salesperson I was working with, because maybe he was just having a bad day, but if he was, it certainly rubbed off on me and ruined my day as well. Call me old-fashioned, but I've bought and leased cars before, and to my way of thinking, the process should go something like this: 1. sit down, introduce yourselves, and spend 5 minutes or so with a little small talk to get a sense of each other; in other words, treat each other like a human being; 2. ask me what I'm looking for, and when I tell you, check if it's in inventory, and if not, let me know if you can get it; 3. negotiate the price for the car; come to terms on what I'm going to have to pay - this has to be done whether one is paying cash, financing a purchase, or leasing; 4. discuss how I'm going to pay for it - in this case, since I'm going to lease, let me know what sort of money factor and residual you can offer through your financing sources (if the terms aren't to my liking at that point, I suppose I have to go find financing on my own); 5. have my trade-in looked over by staff, and then negotiate a trade-in value; 6. finally, based on how much cash I want to put down, work out what my monthly payment will be. That, unfortunately, is not how things progressed. First, I was rushed off with one of the sales guys, who seemed put out when I told him that I already knew what car I wanted, that I didn't think it was in their inventory, but that I knew where it was. I tried to explain that I was coming to East Hills instead of going to the dealer that has the car for the reasons stated above. From there, he immediately jumped to "let's figure out what your payment will be" - but he was going to do that without taking my trade-in into account because I hadn't brought the trade-in car with me. When I balked at that, he started getting impatient. I asked about mf and residual, and he explained to me that if I bought something he had in inventory, he could give me a 0% rate on a 48 month loan. For anything else, he explained, the loan would be 2.9% on a 72 month loan. There's more, but I've run out of space. I don't know how things got so off track, but I definitely did not feel like I was being taken seriously as a customer. I will now just take the drive to the dealer that actually has the car and see what I can work out with them. I cannot recommend East Hills for this reason. More
I recently purchased a new WRX from East Hills Subaru and I was so impressed with my whole experience. Jesse Berbig and Dennis Baquiran treated me extremely well and went out of their way to make sure I was I was so impressed with my whole experience. Jesse Berbig and Dennis Baquiran treated me extremely well and went out of their way to make sure I was a happy customer. I came in to the dealership through the Subaru VIP Program and was definitely treated like a real VIP. Between my trade-in and the purchase of my new vehicle, this was the smoothest transaction I could ask for. The Finance Manager Sol Park topped off my experience, helping me get an awesome extended warranty and peace of mind with my new car. Jesse prepped my car with extreme detail, and for me, details matter—a lot! I also really appreciated how responsive Jesse was before, during, and after my purchase; it went a long way. The friendliness of the staff at this dealership made me even more excited for my new wheels. I really appreciated Jesse, Dennis, and Sol going above and beyond for me and I would totally recommend them and East Hills Subaru should you be in the market for a Subie. More
Kudos to Steve Radow, Sol Park, Dennis Baquiran and the East Hills Subaru Dealership Team! Previously a Mercedes owner looking to switch to a more reliable car that is more economical to maintain and with East Hills Subaru Dealership Team! Previously a Mercedes owner looking to switch to a more reliable car that is more economical to maintain and with off-road capabilities. Upon a recommendation from a friend (and Subaru owner), made a visit to East Hills Subaru, in Roslyn, and connected with Steve Radow. This has to have been my best experience ever with purchasing a vehicle. Steve was extremely knowledgeable about the product and was always willing to answer questions and provide guidance after my initial exploratory visit to the dealership. This was an extremely friendly atmosphere - no hard selling tactics. When I decided to proceed with a purchase, Steve was exceptionally helpful in making me aware of Subaru's best pricing options and vehicle accessories and, upon the conclusion of the sale, took the time to walk me through the highlights of the owners manual, the relevant features of the actual vehicle and the great vehicle service options available through the dealership. Sol Park was also extremely helpful is assisting me with securing the most competitive financing option. This is a great team and I would highly recommend this dealership for anyone considering a Subaru! More

I recently had a less than satisfactory experience with the Roslyn dealership. Over the course of a year, I purchased 3 vehicles from their affiliate in Sayville. One of them unexpectedly malfunctioned aft the Roslyn dealership. Over the course of a year, I purchased 3 vehicles from their affiliate in Sayville. One of them unexpectedly malfunctioned after only 6600 miles during my time in NYC. Due to towing costs, the car was brought to Roslyn instead of Sayville. The service team informed me the battery failure was because I didn't drive enough - suggesting that 5000 miles a year wouldn't sustain the battery. I'm surprised, as I was clear about my driving habits at the time of purchase. Why wasn't I informed about this potential issue? There were discrepancies about the towing timings and communication lapses on their end, which further exacerbated the situation. Additionally, the service manager's handling of the matter was quite dismissive. It's also come to my attention that the parasitic battery drain issue is known, yet it seems to be overlooked. I hope management will acknowledge and address these concerns. #CustomerExperienceMatters More

They also beat our pre-approved bank loan on terms alone, not to mention the added dealer discount for financing through them. More
