East Hills Chrysler Jeep Dodge BUYERS BEWARE! BUYERS BEWARE!!! Do not attempt to purchase a vehicle from this dealer since after 3 plus weeks of waiting for vehicle they will back out of deal and BUYERS BEWARE!!! Do not attempt to purchase a vehicle from this dealer since after 3 plus weeks of waiting for vehicle they will back out of deal and cost you time and money. The General Sales Manager, Edward Whiffen is completely unprofessional, has a big chip on his shoulder, and is lacking any customer service skills. Also after further review of postings on Yelp regarding Mr. Edward Whiffen, the General Sales Manager, appears to be the bad apple here, since I had also experienced a shouting match with him this past weekend. When I had spoken to him about my delay on my vehicle which was already several weeks late (originally promised within 1 week), his comments were "the vehicle is 5 hours away, will take 2 people to pick up, will cost too much, and the deal cannot be done." When I proceeded to get a bit loud and walk out the door, his comments of " he was not hard of hearing" was classic and that is when I lost it. I then finally proceeded to walk out the door and went to my rental vehicle and texted the salesperson I was dealing with. I then looked up and noticed there was a big pow wow at the main desk and they were looking at the salesperson's phone and they were all laughing. I want to thank Mr. Edward Whiffen and his sales team who were standing around the main desk, for bringing my wife to tears after she had decided to come back in to utilize the bathroom facilities but the floor was wet in the showroom and she said that when she had slipped and almost fell, she heard someone say OOPS! Not a nice thing to say to a woman who is disabled and who just recently had a brain biopsy trying to determine why she has inflammation on the brain. I also want to thank East Hills for cutting our quality time short with our daughter who is attending college 1000+ miles away since we came back early so we could pick up our new vehicle by July month end, the 3+ weeks of paying for a rental vehicle, and finally paying 3+ weeks of auto insurance on our older vehicle no longer in our possession since the license plates were to be used on the new vehicle. Last but not least, after also reviewing other posts on Yelp, it appears Arnie Price, the Finance Manager, is still up to his same extended warranty tactics since he pulled the same thing with me back on July 9th when I originally put a deposit down on the vehicle I was promised within 1 week.. He has actually been doing this for years since when he was at a prior dealership back in 2009 where I had purchased a Jeep, and was pulling the same tactics back then. East Hills basically gives the Chrysler product line a bad name and should not be allowed to pull these games and hopefully Chrysler Corporate is now paying attention and will soon put an end to this since no consumer should have to experience what myself, my wife, and others have experienced already. Dear Phil, Your reply does not make any sense. First of all I had put the $100.00 down as agreed on 7/9/2016 for a 200 Chrysler 200 Limited Platinum with the Comfort & Convenience Group with a Power Sunroof. During that visit I was told there was a vehicle available which was not near Albany and we would have within a week. If East Hills was so concerned about us backing out of the deal then why would we have then waited 3 weeks, paid for a rental vehicle in the interim, and also 3 weeks of insurance on a vehicle I no longer owned? Speaking about the $100.00 deposit, I am still awaiting a refund on that also. Also after speaking with Chrysler Corporate, they were rather receptive, and were actually rather surprised that we were still even considering a Chrysler product after all we had experienced with East Hills and I was told that they would indeed be following up and taking action. You may also want to also ensure vehicle purchase agreements are indeed accurate, they add up, and that charges like $45.00 gas fees are not added in since Chrysler will probably review and question when they come in to perform an audit. In regards to my out of pocket costs incurred, $519.34 for the rental vehicle (actually gave me a 2 day credit after I shared my experience above with their branch manager), $167.00 for auto insurance, and the $100.00 deposit I left on 7/9/2016, which makes a grand total of $786.34. More
