When I went to Paul Conte Chevy to buy a new Cruze, I was promptly greeted by Priscilla. She was knowledgeable about the Cruze and competitors models. Everyone at the dealership was friendly. The financing team worked quickly to get me my trade in value and monthly payments and other loan info. I went back the next day to pick up the car and Priscilla and I did all the paperwork and unlike at other dealerships the were no funny games w/ my payments. Then she spent about 15 minutes w/ me going over the details of the interior of the car. I'm very pleased and will buy my next chevy from Paul Conte Chevrolet in Freeport, NY. More

He truly worked hard for us even when it looked like he was going to be unable to do much due to our finances. He was able to work out the perfect deal for us with the help of the general manager. DON'T GO HERE, if you do, do not deal with Andrew. He is so flaky. He called me on a truck that came in on a trade, he gave me one price, I went there, took it for a ride, fell in love with the truck, sat so flaky. WTF...why would you have me come and drive a truck knowing that there is a deposit on it, meanwhile the day before I told him I would give him a deposit because I did not want to lose the truck (2nd time from this same person), and he told me "no need"...only to find out, already took a deposit. The best had to be when he told me that he will sway the buyer away...they do it all the time...plus the person has such bad credit and they will sway him into something else.... BOY DO I FEEL SORRY FOR THE PERSON WHO IS BUYING THIS TRUCK...GLAD IT IS NOT ME AFTER HIM TELLING ME THAT THEY DO THIS ALL THE TIME. TOO BAD I DO NOT HAVE THE GUYS NAME AND CONTACT SO I CAN LET HIM KNOW WHAT THIS SALESPERSON SAID ABOUT HIM. To make matters worse, when my husband went there to go after him, he told him that we can have the truck, but it would be $3,000 more than the original price...HA...WHAT A JERK.... DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH PAUL CONTE CHEVY AT FREEPORT...sad to hear that Paul Conte does not even own this dealership anymore...they just use his name...great. Because when it was actually owned by Paul Conte, they were good, now DONT WASTE YOUR TIME. More

The saleswoman became belligerent immediately saying she was not able to help me. She then got up to get her manager to "talk to me". He sat down and began to interrogate me as to how I got there. What followed was a bizarre sequence where they appeared to go into some mobster movie routine with two bald guys emerging out of the corners. The manager was a burly man who used his size to try to intimidate me into listening to him. When my husband stepped in he backed off of me and decided to get into it with him. A little scary actually but since they had all been so rude and unresponsive as service people who seemed more interested in pissing on people than selling cars, at first I thought maybe it was because of my ethnicity but I quickly realized no, they are just unprofessional assholes who want people they can bully into buying cars with no questions or concerns about a thing...I am a New York City girl born and raised with some good old fashioned manners and I am much too old for that outer borough and LI territorial bullshit some people are into for sport. I will shop local or electronically from now on! YMMV More
I bought my Tahoe in late September of 2010 and started having electrical problems early this year. I drove it into Conte where I purchased the car and they refused to help me for 3 weeks and were extremel having electrical problems early this year. I called and spoke to the manager and he just referred me back to the service department. I wrote directly to Mr. Conte and did not even get the courtesy of a call. They were unwilling to react quickly so I finally broke down in Pennsylavania and had a dealer out there help me. The car is going back under the lemon law but the experience I had with Conte is unforgivable. I have heard from others that they have had bad experiences with Conte. I would strongly recommend against doing business with Conte. More
I had a problem with my 2009 HHR. I called the service dept. and they told me to come in the next day. I tend to stay away from "dealerships" because I have seen them create more problems then they fix, b dept. and they told me to come in the next day. I tend to stay away from "dealerships" because I have seen them create more problems then they fix, but I was plesantly suprised. I got in at 7:30 and was out by 11:30. There was no charge for the repair as it was covered under warranty. I also took advantage of an "oil change special". They really changed my impression abou dealer service. More
