I was to this dealer in Sept 2009 for a warranty repair on my 2007 Tahoe. The dealer I had previously used was no longer in business. My 2007 Tahoe was the fourth Tahoe that I had leased and when my lease was due to expire, Mr Hartung did everything possible to find me a New 2010 Tahoe because now my husband wanted to buy the SUV in stead of leasing. I love my Tahoe will never drive anything else and will continue to go to Mr Hartung at East Hills. This was the first time that I left the dealer without feeling exhausted from the experience. My first review which admittedly was a bit over the top as a result of an unpleasant exchange with the General sales manager, was ultimately brought to the attention of upper management. Although the incid as a result of an unpleasant exchange with the General sales manager, was ultimately brought to the attention of upper management. Although the incident that prompted the review did in fact occur, the rapid response I received via both email and telephone, from first the public relations manager and then the owner of the dealership expressing their concern, was surprisingly unexpected. They both apologized profusely for the incident and wanted it known that in no way was it representative of their management philosophy and sales training. I found their perspective on the matter objective, fair and more than conciliatory with what appeared to be a sincere interest in hopefully finding some way to "make it up to me". If one wanted to characterize their response as simply damage control due to the more than unflattering review I posted, I suppose one could. However I will say that they made every effort to smooth the ruffles and to reassure me that they take the matter seriously enough to reexamine the training of their own staff. I called East Hills and spoke with Mike Kublal. I was ready for a new SUV. I explained that I do not go to car dealerships to negotiate, and if he was willing to take the time with him over the phone, I ready for a new SUV. Mike was as patient as could be and answered every single question I threw at him. After Mike gave me the price for a new Equinox, we discussed my trade. I explained that I knew full well that he could not give me an exact price over the phone since they needed to evaluate my trade (a 2007 RAV4) in person, but I explained that I would not accept a penny less than the actual book value since the car was clean and had never had an accident. He agreed, so I traveled down to the dealership, and Mike made the experience as pleasant as possible. NOTHING was changed from what we agreed to on the phone. The wind up... I got a great deal on the Equinox and he gave me the amount I was looking for on my trade. I hung around for about an hour while all the paperwork was written up and the new car was prepped, and I was on my way. I have bought lots of cars in my life. I was completely shocked when Danny Brendler, the Internet Manager called me from his car on his way home and received a response within 10 minutes. We discussed my leased vehicle that was due back shortly and a New 2011 Chevrolet Traverse as my next vehicle. When I went to meet with him that Sunday, Danny introduced me to his General Sales Manager, John Berriola and they both addressed all of my questions and concerns in a very professional and courteous manner without any pressure to Buy Now! They actually went out of state to find me the right Traverse. Needless to say, I purchased a Gorgeous Traverse LTZ in White Diamond at a fair price and just love it.
