I browsed one of the big car sales listing So my review is really a multiple part review. I'll start with the pre-purchase/still searching front. I browsed one of the big car sales listing apps. Found a car that I've wanted for awhile, in the price range I could afford. Saw driveway was selling it, so went to their website to see if there was more photos/information. The car wasn't on their website anymore. I had assumed it sold, but for fun sent a message using the app I had found it on. To my surprise, I received a phone call from Will, making sure which car I was interested in. He told me it's likely someone else started the process, removing it from their website, and he would check to see if it was still available. It was. Onto dealing with the salesman (Will)/financing. Will was phenomenal to deal with. He was very attentive, gave me the choice of phone calls, text, or email. I chose text. Once the car was confirmed available, he asked about my trade in information. I told him I had already done the trade in estimator on their website and gave him the car so he could search it up. I also told him it had some light, tasteful modifications. He had me send him some photos. Once we were both happy, he sent me the form for financing. Put that in, got approved, and we signed 95% of the documents online. This process took about a day. Moving to delivery. Here is where things get shaky, and the ONLY reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5. Will had initially told me delivery takes anywhere from 5-14 days, depending on availability of transport drivers and distance away. The car was only about 6 hours from me, so he told me the likely date is 6 days out. Cool. 3 days later I was called by Parker, the post-sales fella that Will transferred me to, who was also PHENOMENAL. He told me the car is in the state and if I was available. I was at work so asked him to switch deliver address to my work, which he did with no issues. 3 hours later, at the end of the estimated arrival time, Parker called and told me there was a mistake and the car wouldn't be in til the next day. Not a big deal, I cancelled some appointments and was anxiously waiting the following day. An hour into the estimated time frame, Parker called me again and let me know that during the pre-delivery inspection, there was an issue with the brakes and the AC wasn't working. Fine. Not a big deal. The following day, now on the day I was initially told, Parker called and let me know the problems were minor and fixed, and the driver was just going to drive my new car to me and drive my trade in back to their hub since it was close (2 hours away). Cool! 15 minutes later, another call from Parker. The cars check engine light came on and the driver turned around to get it checked out. I was fairly annoyed by the reschedules at this point, but kept going forward. I had asked Parker to send me the check engine codes, as I'm mechanically inclined and am not scared of a CEL. It was an underboost code, on this particular car can be a dying turbo or a small boost leak. I was told they were going to see if they can find a nearby dealership to check it out. The following day, I get a call saying the closest dealer is 6 hours away, and at this point my options were to take the car as is knowing I had 7 days to turn it back in, let them tow it back and fix it (more waiting) or see about another car. I asked if I could come check the car out myself and make the decision or try and fix it. He said that's fine and gave me the cars location. I drove 2 hours to check it out. The in person salesman, or "valet" Brian, was also phenomenal. I keep using that word cause it is true. I arrived at 4, they are done at 5. Brian was extremely courteous when I started wrenching on the car in a parking lot, never got annoyed that I kept him an hour late, or anything. By the end, I got the light off, the car was running fine, though still a bit under where it should be at PSI was, but not a huge deal. I agreed to take the car. Brian quickly got the paperwork done, and off I drove. Car made the 2 hour drive home just fine. After sales, I was contacted by Will 3 times throughout the week to see how things were going. I decided to keep the car. To summarize, the process is THEORETICALLY smooth, the people are AMAZING to deal with, and the cars are decent. You can tell that they are knew to this all-online stuff. Lithia is the parent company, and they are HUGE, but driveway is new. I would definitely recommend them as an alternative to other online car delivery companies, so long as you're patient and understanding of the fact that they are still getting the process down. All in all, I'm happy and would use them again. More
