This was my first experience buying a car online and mostly it was a good experience with Driveway. Arianna was awesome. She worked the process efficiently and responsively. She listened to every concern and solved issues expediently. The negative critique I might offer is the contract and delivery steps. It kind of felt like the customer attention was not as good after the check was in hand. In fairness, Ca fires and Tx weather played a role. Getting temporary plates is no easy task going from Ca to NM. That’d be a great upgrade to the service if Driveway could figure that out. We just got the vehicle and it is as advertised. Having a network of dealers under Lithia motors probably is a competitive advantage for Driveway. Assuming, we don’t see any reason to return the car in 7 days, I’d certainly recommend Driveway for online car purchases, but make sure you have ready access to a notary. More

It was shipped from FL to VA, and I was behind the wheel 4 days after signing and sending back DMV paperwork. Here are the issues I'm having... I purchased this vehicle on Dec 18th. Although it did come with 30 day temp tags, they were for 30 days. They expired today Jan 15th and still no permanent tag in sight. I reached out on the 12th regarding the expiration of it and was told that I would have another overnighted to me. This was 8 days ago. I called today and was told that they don't know what is going on with it. I was informed that it is illegal to drive on expired tags. Well no *** Sherlock Holmes. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to know that. I'm in the 757. These cops are a real pain in the** and will pull you even if they suspect you fart the wrong way while driving. When asked about the status of DMV so that I can get permanent plates, I'm told they haven't received the title. Wait! Over 30 days and yet still no title? So, I am paying on a vehicle that I can not drive. It's making a really nice driveway ornament right now basically. I have chemo treatments 3 times a week and this puts me in a bind. Before all of this madness, at the time of purchase, paperwork I signed and had notarized stated that the vehicle had 335 miles. When I received it, it had 674.4. I called and was told they don't know how or where the extra miles came from, that they would have to look into it. Granted, I'm being reimbursed for those extra miles, but it doesn't change the fact. I didn't want a brand-new vehicle with almost 1k miles when I have had it for 32 days and haven't even driven it 100 yet. Well, today I'm told it was a vehicle swap basically when I purchased it, someone else had as well and changed their mind. Why couldn't I have been informed before I signed documents with 'exact mileage' on DMV documents that were incorrect? I have bought new cars every 3 years since I was 25 years old. I'm 49. Not only that, but I never had to wait 30 days in full for hard plates due to, I guess, a title that has become non-existent. Makes me wonder, but yet I've paid my payments 2 months in advance already that aren't even due until the 26th of Jan. Before I even considered a purchase with Driveway, I read reviews of others who had to fight to get tags. I mentioned it to the rep I spoke to prior making my final decision, and he stated that it ONLY happens when customers don't send back the required paperwork to proceed, have insurance, and so on. I did! It was covered on my insurance within 15 mins I decided to purchase and sent back the DMV paperwork 2 hours after I received. I did my part to the fullest. Furthermore, I've had 2 friends now purchase, because I spoke highly of Driveway. I'm starting to second guess my opinion now. Overall...yes, they sell great vehicles. They are a HUGE company with dealerships all over the world. The process is super easy, not time-consuming at all, you can buy a vehicle lying in bed without having to deal with a salesman, wasting hours and hours of listening to them try to sell you on things you don't need or want, the team you work with are very informative on shipping dates and ETA, BUT they do lack in areas that shouldn't put customers in situations in which they can't drive. I just can't grasp for the life of me or even understand how, where, or why a title hasn't been presented. I signed one in the packet, so I know it exists. If I don't get my tags, I'm contacting a lawyer and also the BBB. I have posted this on every review site possible. If you decide to purchase from them, enjoy the short time you can drive because getting tags is next to impossible. They lost my referral to others. More
