The sales staff was great to work with but after we agreed on a deal, the finance portion of the deal was bad. First we had to wait for over an hour. Then when all of the paperwork was completed, I wa agreed on a deal, the finance portion of the deal was bad. First we had to wait for over an hour. Then when all of the paperwork was completed, I was ready to write a check for the purchase price. I asked them to hold the check for a day and a half because I was transferring money from a savings account to my checking account. They said they could not do that. I offered to put 15% down via a debit card transaction and showed them my savings account balance which over 2.5 times the cost of the vehicle - they said no to that suggestion. I called my savings bank and transferred the required amount on speaker phone so they could hear that the amount would be available on the day I requested. The finance employee then asked the manager if the down payment and holding the check a day and a half would be OK and he said no. So I ended up putting 15% down on a credit card to hold the car and had to return on the day when I had the funds with a cashier's check for the outstanding amount. It cost me a 90 mile round trip to return to the dealer to pick up the car. I have purchased many cars during my life and I have never had this happen before. In fact, I had the dealers asking me to take the car home even though the full amount was not immediately available because they trusted that I would pay. If I would have been buying the car for myself (I was buying it for my daughter), I would have left the car on the lot and looked elsewhere. I have to say that the failure to trust me was insulting.
