My experience with Dover Chevrolet ICL has been nothing short of a disaster. I purchased a 2021 Silverado with the 3.0 diesel engine, only to face a series of problems that reveal the dealership’s lack of short of a disaster. I purchased a 2021 Silverado with the 3.0 diesel engine, only to face a series of problems that reveal the dealership’s lack of professionalism and care. Firstly, upon picking up the truck, I discovered I had driven to Portsmouth and back without a license plate. This was just the beginning of a string of issues. When I returned to the dealership, I noticed a massive dent on the roofline above the rear passenger door. This wasn’t a small imperfection; it was a glaring dent with brushed and flaking paint. The sales manager acknowledged this but could only offer to "run it up the chain." After a prolonged back-and-forth, they agreed to fix the dent at no cost after reviewing old transport photos that showed the damage that was missed by the staff. I dropped off the truck and received a rental covered in dust, rock chips and door dings, with a smell reminiscent of a gym bag. I filmed the rental’s condition to protect myself and left. When I picked up my truck a week later, I was dismayed to find the dent had not been properly repaired. It was still visible, with a noticeable jog between the door and jam, the bodywork was subpar. Even worse, my truck’s interior was covered in filler dust from the repair work—clearly, the body shop had not bothered to mask off the door properly. Additionally, I noticed new damage on the driver’s side front bumper—red/brown paint transfer, which I had to report the next day. The dealership had proformed their own walk-around inspection of the truck prior, and it reflects that the damage was done in their possession. They agreed to repair. Eight days later, I received the truck with the original dent fixed and the bumper repaired. They also filled the tank and detailed the truck, but it still smelled of bondo inside today To add insult to injury, they didn’t put an inspection sticker on the truck when I bought it. After driving 1,000 miles, the truck failed its inspection due to a persistent code that they had merely cleared. The code reappeared within 25 miles of picking up the vehicle. In summary, Dover Chevrolet delivered a deeply frustrating and disappointing experience. Their lack of attention to detail, poor repair work, and overall customer service is unacceptable. I would advise anyone considering a purchase from this dealership to proceed with extreme caution. More
I drove from Bangor, Maine to purchase my vehicle which I paid off in cash the following month. Not only was I shorted on my trade, which was also paid off, by $2000, which I easily go over, I never receiv paid off in cash the following month. Not only was I shorted on my trade, which was also paid off, by $2000, which I easily go over, I never received the additional key fob which I was told would be mailed to me but instead was told when I emailed a complaint that I could drive down to get one because there was no record of the promise to mail me the additional FOB. To boot, I emailed the complaint from my work email directly from Outlook email, not this site, and they persisted on adding my work email to their mailing list after I told them I would not be doing business with them in the future due to the experience I had with their dealership. This was the most unprofessional and unethical dealership experience I have ever had and will never do business with them again. More
