Going in to visit this dealership, I was ready for and expecting rejection. I spoke with David Suchocki over the phone, he went over specific details with me regarding my credit which was not that great, expecting rejection. I spoke with David Suchocki over the phone, he went over specific details with me regarding my credit which was not that great,he explained how the dealership has banks that work with them to get approval for everyone which I heard from other dealerships so I wasn't expecting much, I made the appointment based on how friendly and helpful Dave was over the phone,once I arrived at the dealership and met with Dave I was still a little skeptical, but he was very knowlegable, friendly and courterous, everything he promised me over the phone he delivered, I received approval from a bank, picked out a car and a few hours later drove off the lot with a 2009 Volkswagon Jetta thanks to David Suchacki. I recently went to Douglas VW for my final service under warranty. I had noticed a strange knocking noise in the back of the car, and asked my service manager, Rick, if he could look into it for me (in addi warranty. I had noticed a strange knocking noise in the back of the car, and asked my service manager, Rick, if he could look into it for me (in addition to the things they routinely check a a part of the service). I thought it was just something loose in the back and would be a quick fix. It turned out to be something inside the body panels and very hard to find and solve. Many things impressed me with how Rick and the Douglas team went above and beyond to help me. First, they kept me informed about what was happening at every step - so I never felt lost or concerned. Second, Rick made sure that my transportation needs were cared for, by arranging for a loaner car and getting it to me even after I'd left the dealership. Third was how Rick went to such lengths to find and fix the problem. In addition to the normal Douglas mechanic staff, they called in specialists from their body shop and even a special tech from Volkswagen... They really went above and beyond to make sure the issue was found and fixed. At one point a team of three was riding around in the car searching for the source of the noise inch-by-inch. I would say that this is truly exceptional service if I had been paying for the visit. However, this was covered by factory warranty, so these guys were showing this level of dedication and service to essentially a non-paying customer. It's rare to find people who take pride in doing a great job. It's rare to find people who really deliver on the promise of putting the customer first. Douglas VW is a place where you can find both, and I'm grateful that I found them. I recently had no choice but to get a pre-owned vehicle. However; my credit was damaged due to a voluntary surrender of a previous car (which was technically a repo.) I had already met with several dealerships (including a horrible experience with a Ford dealership on Rte 1 in Woodbridge) who claimed they couldn't help me. David ran my credit and told me I had 3 banks ready to go. He let me testdrive a Jetta for a few days and when I came back we couldn't make a deal because of the price of the car. However; David knew this going in because he was very thorough and he "works backwards." Instead of shooting for the moon and going through unnecessary negotiations he asked the right questions of what I wanted, and how much I was looking to pay per month. He put me in a 2010 Chevy HHR which I absolutely love and was able to drive it off the lot. I would recommend him to EVERYONE. I will make sure if somebody needs a car they go to nobody but him. It made a very stressful situation like purchasing a car a rather enjoyable one. He put a lot of time into making me happy and going the extra mile with exceptional customer service. More
