TruCar/USAA Affiliation Earned them the Sale My wife and I were about to purchase a vehicle (Chrysler Town & Country Touring) from a dealership in Sarasota. I ran home to pick up my trade in, and My wife and I were about to purchase a vehicle (Chrysler Town & Country Touring) from a dealership in Sarasota. I ran home to pick up my trade in, and I thought to check the USAA Car Buying Service to make sure I was getting a good price. Apparently this triggered a notification to the Douglas Jeep Chrysler Dodge dealership through TruCar, and I received a call from Eric Berkowitz who informed me that their dealership is the TruCar dealer in the area. Initially I was not interested in going all the way down to Venice to see if he could beat the other dealership's price, but I am glad that I did. Eric was a very friendly salesman, wasn't pushy, was extremely informative, and patient. My wife and I did not even arrive to the dealership until right before 6pm, and even though my wife and I already had made the decision on which vehicle we wanted, Eric took the time to show us the car again and actually pointed out a few features that the other dealership had not informed us about. When we sat down to do the paperwork, there was no funny business... there was a little bit of question about one of the rebates that we were entitled to through the USAA/TruCar process, but Eric and Josh (the sales manager) were able to create a solution that we all were happy with. We did have a bit of an aggravating experience with the loan officer (Tim) when we sat down to do the loan paperwork. Albeit, it was about 8:00pm by the time we sat down with him to sign the papers. Tim had a little bit of a sour attitude because we were causing him to work overtime... (Well excuse me pal, my bad, I'll go elsewhere). You guys called us, not the other way around... and it wasn’t like we were indecisive, or playing games... and at one point, we very seriously almost walked out because my wife and I were getting offended by Tim's tone, Fortunately, we pulled Josh into the room, and he was able to calm the air and prevent Tim from blowing a sale for Eric and the Dealership, ok, rant over. Bottom line is, I don’t hold Tim's impatient attitude against Eric, Josh, or the dealership as a whole (which is why I am still rating them 5 out of 5 in all categories). In the end, my wife and I purchased the car for a very competitive price, got a decent value for our trade-in, were able to take receipt of our new vehicle the same night (which is good seeing how we were only there for a few hours - after hours at that) and had a good experience overall. In summary, we would definitely consider doing business with Douglas Jeep Chrysler Dodge again in the future, but next time we would deal with a different loan officer than Tim. More

We were very particular in what we wanted and put in an order for a new Cherokee. Douglas beat another local dealer on price. Our only disappointment was that the new Jeep, which is in very high demand, came in later than we had expected. They expedited its local delivery because we were due to leave town but the prep department did not spend enough time with clean up and associated prep. We have to give a 4 instead of a 5 on quality due to smeary windows and some accessory parts not in place. More

Michael Moore was the initial contact and his calm attitude and kindness paired with a no-pressure approach immediately told me I could trust what he told me. We got a great vehicle at a fair price and people with genuine character sold it to us. We even feel like maybe we made a few friends in the process! This is rare and we'll recommend the dealership any time we hear of friends or family in the market to buy. I did revise my review and changed "work performed" from "OK" to "Great" because Tim and Don got our service done right the FIRST time. More
