I've switched dealers for my maintenance to Dons Ford because of how quick and friendly the staff is. I decided to trade in my current vehicle for a new Ford and of course I went to Dons Ford! In the past year I have bought 2 vehicles and 3 service contracts from Don’s. My previous loyalty and confidence in Don’s is gone. I hope Don’s disregard for customer safety doesn’t or hasn’t gotten anyb contracts from Don’s. My previous loyalty and confidence in Don’s is gone. I hope Don’s disregard for customer safety doesn’t or hasn’t gotten anybody hurt or killed The rear brakes were totally dysfunctional on the van Don’s sold us. Good brakes should be a given on a purchase with any vehicle Don’s sells and inspects, even without the $5,000 service contract they sold me. Don’s sold us a van with only front brakes that were operational. We had driven less than 4,000 miles and owned it less than 2 months and asked Don’s service to check the metal to metal sound the brakes in the back were making. The service department refused saying they weren’t going to make the van new. So we had the work done elsewhere. 4 lug nuts for the rear wheels had to be air chiseled out because they were frozen. Don’s could not have removed the rear wheels to inspect the brakes before selling us the vehicle. Thank goodness we weren’t trying to change a flat tire on the side of a busy highway in bad weather when we learned some of the lug nuts were frozen on and would have to be air chiseled off. We found out about the frozen lug nuts when we were working on the dysfunctional rear brakes and barely functioning and worn front brakes. Both rear rotors(worn down to the metal), all the brake pads, and the rear calipers were replaced but not at Don’s. Calipers covered under the $5,000 Don’s sold me and then didn’t honor. Like the bad brakes bad ball joints and the bad rack pinion steering were replaced at another garage since Don’s didn’t honor the service contract they sold me. There’s more but these are the items that involve customer safety. I hope Don’s starts to at least do safety inspections on their vehicles. More
