Don Moore Honda

we've had our accord for two years, it has 41xxx miles on it. my wife has it seviced regularly. today was the first time i went with her. someone from service brought the air cleaner in and asked if we wante it. my wife has it seviced regularly. today was the first time i went with her. someone from service brought the air cleaner in and asked if we wanted it changed. the filter was in terrible shape so i asked my wife if it had ever been replaced but she didnt know. i went out in the service department and asked and they told me no. i also asked if it had been checked before and he told me it is checked at every service. i told him i didnt think that filter got that dirty since the last service his reply was "well i dont know what to tell you". according to the owners manual the air cleaner should be replaced every 15xxx miles. we take our car to honda to keep it in the best possible shape thinking honda service would take care of our needs. obviously, we have been making a mistake!! i guess i should check it over, wonder what else has been overlooked!!
