Took my car in for oil change/tire rotation/fluid top off on Friday, received a call from service department indicating car was ready to pick but they couldn’t do the tire rotation. Said my lug nuts had swol on Friday, received a call from service department indicating car was ready to pick but they couldn’t do the tire rotation. Said my lug nuts had swollen, never heard of this. The most shocking hint about the call was I was told it would cost over $620 to replace 20 lugs nots. Told me the lug nuts were over $18 each and it would be about an hour and a half labor. I was dumbfounded, but knew enough to know this was a scam and told them I would wait on that service. Was also disappointed when I picked up car there was no discount on the oils change since they didn’t perform the tire rotation. Call me crazy but 74.50 plus tax is a lot for an oil change. I will not be bringing my car in for any other service. The thing that breaks my heart is what if an older woman who is alone and doesn’t know much about vehicles got this call, they could have very easily been taken for over $620. Don Mealy should be ashamed of themselves. More
Extremely Unprofessional. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. I've been coming to this dealership for some time and I never had an experience like this. Instead of trying to help Nick simply AVOID AT ALL COSTS. I've been coming to this dealership for some time and I never had an experience like this. Instead of trying to help Nick simply gave me a bill for $1600 to REPLACE A BATTERY. When asked why I can't have inspected per warranty ( brand new suburban with 30k miles on it (mind you). Nick with sarcasm replied that it is "self explanatory and that i shouldn't waste his time asking for an explanation. Sorry we're not all service advisors Nick! More
Mike reached out to me to follow up on a service complaint I had. Mike told me the protocols in place and promised to look into my issue further. Recently relocated from Jax Beach to Windermere and had an exhaust issue with my Chevy Cavalier. Although it’s old, it is most beloved, prized possession, bc it was my late mom’s trusty car. It only has ap an exhaust issue with my Chevy Cavalier. Although it’s old, it is most beloved, prized possession, bc it was my late mom’s trusty car. It only has approx. 80K miles and is well-maintained bc I only take my 3 cars to dealers for service. Took car in on 10/20/2022 and just picked it up yesterday, 11/2/2022. Worked with a kind, responsive and fairly professional service advisor named Natalie. My frustration and gross dissatisfaction have to do with (1) the length of time it took to get my car back for a catalytic converter repair; (2) being charged an excessive $75 for a specious Miscellaneous Disposal Fee, which is outrageous on face; and (3) being overcharged by $75 in connection with my car having to be towed to S & G in Minneola to remove some “broken bolts”, a task that this dealer strangely couldn’t perform bc it didn’t have proper equipment. I write this honest review in good service to other consumers and to put the dealer on notice that I will be following-up with GM and the owner of the dealership. I cannot tolerate the $150 in excessive charges, particularly as (1) this Chevy dealer charges a whopping $160+/hr for labor (more than the last hourly rate I paid to service my luxury S-Class Mercedes-Benz and my luxury BMW sports convertible); (2) the $75 Disposal Fee is completely arbitrary and bogus where the dealer needs to absorb its own costs of doing business, already has inflated labor charges and significantly marked up parts charges; (3) the grossly dishonest and deceptive $75 disposal fee is not commensurate with the work that was performed; (4) I was informed yesterday by my fmr dealer service advisers in Jax that in all likelihood, the old, removed catalytic converter will be sold by Don Mealy bc it contains desirable precious metals that are valuable to recyclers, scrapyards, and other salvagers in the secondary market; (5) S & G charged the dealer $140.00 ($75 less than what I got charged) to remove the bolts with equipment Don Mealey shockingly didn’t have; and (6) I USED MY AAA TOWING BENEFITS TO TRANSPORT MY CAR TO S & G AND BACK TO DON MEALEY. I hereby demand an immediate refund of $150.00 for this horrific, predatory, and unscrupulous car repair experience. In no event will I sit idly by and allow this to stand. Seemingly, this dealership has concocted a cornucopia of tactics that are tantamount to unfair, deceptive and burdensome trade practices. In the future, I empathically urge other consumers to strongly consider alternative car repair options and dealers in metro-Orlando, like me. More

𝗔𝗩𝗢𝗜𝗗: Don Mealey Chevrolet of Clermont, FL at all costs. Their service department (whom had possession of my new 2021 Tahoe for 3 weeks due to a recall) caused front end damage to my front bumper costs. Their service department (whom had possession of my new 2021 Tahoe for 3 weeks due to a recall) caused front end damage to my front bumper which was custom painted black to hide the chrome accents. They also caused damage (scratches and a curb dent) to 1 of my custom 26” rims ($1,200 per rim), and that’s not even including the satin paint job that I had paid $250 (per rim) for. On top of this all, I was promised that GM would reimburse me for up to $40/day for a rental (since this is the only dealership I’ve encountered after 20+ years, and dozens of vehicles) that does not provide a loaner to their customers). Neil Wright (the service manager) had agreed verbally via email that Don Mealey Chevrolet would cover the cost of their damage, acknowledging that they were liable for the cause. He also ignored my email with my rental receipt (which exceeded $40/day as there’s nowhere on earth you can rent a full sized SUV for that price), so I ended up paying $80+ a day (eating $40/day x 3+ weeks out of my own pocket). Neil Wright has ignored both of my emails with the bodyshop estimate, as well as phone calls. All I needed to know was how the payment would be handled, as in: A) would Don Mealey Chevrolet prefer to pay the bodyshop directly or B) should I pay the bodyshop and get reimbursed via Don Mealey Chevrolet. So while I continue to get zero communication from Don Mealey Chevrolet and/or Nick Wright, I will be paying the bodyshop directly to have the work done and then I will be handling this matter in small claims court to recoup my losses, not only from their damage to my SUV, but for the $40/day rental coverage that I was never reimbursed on.
