$485/mo for a corolla!?!???! I don’t know if he thought he could pull one over on me because I’m a woman and came in without a man, or heard I was an attorney and thought I had ca I don’t know if he thought he could pull one over on me because I’m a woman and came in without a man, or heard I was an attorney and thought I had cash to just toss around or what, but he tried to get me to pay $485/mo for a corolla. For that price I should be getting a BMW! I’ve rented cars (by myself I might add) before and have seen car commercials on tv, so I know when I’m being absurdly ripped off!! I tried to leave several times but he had already taken my keys to get my car I was turning in appraised and did not once offer to return them when I said I would like to leave and consider my options. Am I really supposed to have to scream at him and demand he give me my keys back?? That’s what I would have had to do to actually leave. Or just get a new car. So I feel very forced into the car I got. I would have much preferred to come back and deal with someone who would treat me with some respect. I think I finally got to an okay price but I’m so disgusted by how I was treated that I’m absolutely never coming to don McGill again and am seriously questioning whether to stick with Toyota (which I’ve been driving for 17 years) when my lease is up. He also completely did not understand (or even really ask) what I was looking for. When I found out the car I wanted was not available (dark Grey Prius c - which is what I was driving and turning in) which I said I loved because of how small it was, he first suggested, because “a corolla may be too small,” some hideous huge SUV! Also, he never once asked my price range, so thankfully I had my phone on me and went to Toyota.com while walking around with him and found out that the corolla was the size, style, and price I wanted. Toyota.com was more helpful than he was when trying to decide on a new car. He also never once mentioned that I could purchase my current Prius or suggest even possibly a used, but newer model, version. I was initially going to just get a new one, but with a new one not being available, those are options I may have considered. Additionally, several times during the initial consult, while walking around, and while test driving the corolla, he interrupted conversations and answered phone calls leaving me awkwardly standing/driving/sitting there. Zero respect. All in all I feel he had an extremely degrading attitude about my intelligence on things car related, was not helpful in trying to get me what I wanted, and was only pushing his own agenda to get a new sale no matter the cost to customer satisfaction and respect. The guy in the finance dept was nice though. I don’t remember his name but the guy in the finance dept gets 5’s all around. But he wasn’t enough to change how disgusted I felt when I left, and currently still feel about the salesman. More
