I would highly recommend Don Jacobs Volkswagen in Lexington, Kentucky to anyone and everyone I know. First off, this dealership was extremely busy. However, I have never been treated with such respect and kindness by any dealer I have ever dealt with but Don Jacobs Volkswagen. From Zach Gibson, to the man who went above and beyond to make this deal happen to Drake from finance and everyone in between. Everyone was exceptional. I was hesitant due to past experiences from dealerships and everyone put me at ease. Zach Gibson was our salesperson and he was absolutely awesome! There was no waiting around for him. I highly recommend this man. He came out immediately, asked what we were looking for, wanted and needed in a vehicle. There was absolutely no sales pressure from him. He is so great at his job. He explained everything he was doing throughout the entire process. He didn’t disappear for 1/2 an hour at a time, multiple times. He stayed with us for the entire process. He sat in the perspective vehicle I was looking at buying for as long as he needed and explained everything, answered all of my questions, no matter how ridiculous they sounded, which is something that has never happened with me. To the gentleman who went above and beyond to crunch numbers and make this deal happen, this gentleman truly cared, came out and spoke with us himself and was so kindhearted. I can’t thank you enough! Drake from finance was patient, made sure he explained everything and answered any and all questions, concerns and thoughts we had. He did not rush through the finance process. They treated me with respect, kindness and compassion. Everyone was so friendly, patient and helpful in anyway they could be. To everyone who had a hand in making this happen and putting my mind at ease. All I have to offer is my sincerest gratitude for treating me like a person and not just another ‘sale or number’. You are the reason we decided to do business with you. How you treat someone says so much about your dealership and the type of people you are. My experiences with dealerships has been a dreadful experience. You are the exception to this. After everything was said and done, they still offered assistance in anyway possible and told us repeatedly to contact them at anytime if we had concerns or questions. The patience, transparency, honesty, integrity, respect and kindness everyone showed was outstanding and above and beyond. Thank you for everything! Camille McClanahan More
I have never had such an abysmal experience. I was embarrassed having to drive the car off the lot with the don Jacobs plate frame and card stock sign where my temporary tags *should* have been. That's another thing. I tried getting ahold of Jackson concerning my temp tag, and I never heard so much as a peep from him about it. After my mother, my father, and I called several days and got the run around, finally someone overnighted the tags. What dealership doesn't put temp tags on a car once purchased? None of the dealerships my family has bought from has done this stunt. Most recently, my mom got a car, and the very same day she drove off with it, it had temporary tags, a full tank of gas, and the car was cleaned inside and out. That is the way a Volkswagen, or any dealership, should operate. No sloppy dealership advertisement junk cluttering up the car, just a clean, fully fueled GTI. You all could learn a whole lot from Neil Huffman Volkswagen on how to prepare a car for its new owner. Also, what even slightly reputable establishment has workers just waltz around mindlessly, answering every question with "I don't know, let me go ask somebody"? I had a tally counter going for each time Jackson or another member of staff told me that. 57 times a member of staff said those damning words to me, and that's just the Saturday I was there to test drive the beetle. When I was at the dealership on March first, Jackson told me that he'd get the plastic vase replaced and mailed to me. It's the 12th. I'd call and ask how much longer I'll have to wait, but I don't want to be told "I don't know let me go ask somebody" by half of the people there. The only one who had any semblance of understanding how to do their job was an older man with glasses. He managed to talk some sense into Jackson so he'd stop standing there like a deer in headlights It's truly miraculous that y'all are still in business. I mean no ill will towards anyone, but I'm not gonna lie and say "oh I had a wonderful experience". If it wasn’t for wanting that 2009 beetle, I would have gone to literally any other dealership on the planet More
Performed unnecessary maintenance! !! Charged over $600 for routine oil change! Communication is horrible! Management is non-existent! Take your VW to Louisville. It's worth the drive!! !! Needless to say they only made one key! Complete lack of attention to detail. The front desk people are not far off from clueless. Super unhappy and will never go back. More
10/10 would NOT recommend buying anything from Don Jacobs Volkswagen!! I recently bought a 2019 Subaru Forster Touring (not a cheap vehicle- “fully loaded” model) and once I got it home and started setting up the features, realized that one didn’t work. Keep in mind that I’m a repeat Don Jacobs customer… I paid full price for the vehicle and this was never disclosed to me. I was told that the vehicle was “inspected” and worked as advertised. After taking it to Quantrell Subaru, I learned that this was NOT the case. It requires a $1000+ fix to work properly. Don Jacobs is refusing to fix it themselves OR to pay Quantrell Subaru to fix it. They told me that I purchased the car “as it” and their hands were tied. COMPLETE xxxxxxxx! I’ll never purchase anything else from them and will highly discourage anyone that I know from buying from them either. Worst customer service experience ever… it sucks getting screwed. I will certainly be contacting the BBB to inform them of this! More
I'm not sure if the problem with the sales team is a lack of accurate information or simple dishonesty. I bought a used Honda minivan online from Don Jacobs on Dec 31, 2022. I went through the sales proc of accurate information or simple dishonesty. I bought a used Honda minivan online from Don Jacobs on Dec 31, 2022. I went through the sales process with Jason and Vanessa, and while the team was courteous and kind ,I feel misled about the details of the purchase. About a month after driving off the lot, the van needed extensive repair (about $4000 worth). A new timing belt, water pump, new brakes/rotors (which I were told were in very good condition), and I had to fix an oil leak (I was assured there were none in the sales process), among other regular maintenance issues. I was told that the van was in good shape and completely safe for my family. It was sold as is and so had no warranty, and I understand that. However, there was a significant breakdown either within the Don Jacobs team, or there is a gap between what the sales team says and actual reality. All this said, I would seriously hesitate before buying from Don Jacobs (especially their used inventory). At the very least, do not buy from them without an independent inspection. I understand my part in the process, and I've learned a lesson - however I would caution anyone from trusting the sales team here without verifying that what they say is true. More
