Had an appointment for oil change and tire rotation; took an hour and 48 minutes. Have three open recalls; the dealership will schedule me for an "appointment" and will complete recalls if they have time and an hour and 48 minutes. I️ have always brought my cars to Mike Smith for repairs when needed. This time it was for the a/c to be fixed because it was not blowing at all. After having the car for 10 days, the Repair Technician (Nic when needed. This time it was for the a/c to be fixed because it was not blowing at all. After having the car for 10 days, the Repair Technician (Nick) told me that it was not repairable. He tried replacing the blower motor and said there were deeper problems because when he would turn on the a/c, the engine would shut down. He also said that it was an older car and you couldn't get any parts for it. At least he did not charge me for the 4 hours labor or the blower motor that he tried. However they charged me about $270 for a diagnostic check which accomplished nothing. They say that you "approved" the diagnostic check but they won't let you proceed without it. Anyway, I️ took it to a local mechanic who works on imports and they had the a/c fixed in 24 hours. Just had to replace the blower motor and regulator and now it blows cold air and works fine. I️ do not understand how Nick could tell me these things and then another independent mechanic can fix it in 24 hours and obtain the parts for it within 24 hours as well. More
Your poor service staff is either short-staffed or has a poor work process. I live in Buna, so it's about a 30 mile one way trip to have service. I had a problem with my mirror so I took the car in , got an oil change too, part was not in stock so I ordered it, service staff said the part would be in the next day. So I drive in the next day to be told the part wasn't in and if it was, nobody was on hand to install it. I am frustrated by the waste of gas and time that could have been avoided by a phone call. More
