My lease was a month from ending and I was not sure what I had to do when I recieved a call from Craig Waikem. He spent much time going over my opitions on what I could do with my lease vehicle. He explaine I had to do when I recieved a call from Craig Waikem. He spent much time going over my opitions on what I could do with my lease vehicle. He explained I could keep my car and buy out the lease for the guaranteed lease end value, I could sell my car and keep any money over the guaranteed lease end value, I could trade the car in if it had equity or I could just turn it back to Honda and walk away, with a brand new Honda of course. It was so easy I don't know why everyone doesn't lease. Thanks Craig, I will be back in three years for my next new Honda! More
I was working with the salesman (Gary Grant) over the last week to negotiate the final price on a lease for a 2009 Honda Pilot and we had agreed to a price over the phone. This price was given to Gary b last week to negotiate the final price on a lease for a 2009 Honda Pilot and we had agreed to a price over the phone. This price was given to Gary by Rick Page. When my wife and I went in to the dealership to complete the sale, we filled out credit applications. After about 25 minutes, Rick Page came to us and told us that there "was a misunderstanding between Gary and I and that the price we were quoted was a misunderstanding. That the price we were quoted did not include sales tax." In fact, Gary admitted that the price he quoted me did, in fact, include sales tax. Throughout the entire sales process, Gary consistently quoted to me all prices with sales tax included. The “revised” price of the vehicle would have raised the overall cost of the lease over $1,200.00 over the term of the lease (39 months). Following this, we requested that the credit applications be returned to us since Rick would not honor the quoted price he gave to Gary. Rick stated that he did not run a credit check. Rick then followed us outside to the parking lot to explain that there was a small problem because he did run a credit check on us. He insisted that we provide him a copy of our credit applications which we did not since he had lied to us and told us that he did not check our credit score. I do not like to be baited and switched to a higher price, nor lied to, and will never conduct business with Waikem Honda again. Additionally, I will provide details of our experience concerning Rick Page and Waikem Honda to all related web sites including Honda and The Better Business Bureau. This entire debacle is the result of Rick Page trying to manipulate us into paying more for a vehicle than what was originally agreed upon. I condemn Rick Page’s use and abuse of business ethics and his sales tactics. More
I went to Waikem Honda in Massillon, OH while I was still comparing different cars that I was looking at. The salesperson I worked with was John Olihan. Took a test drive in a sport manual – John was easy comparing different cars that I was looking at. The salesperson I worked with was John Olihan. Took a test drive in a sport manual – John was easy to talk with, knowledgeable, and not pushy. Went back later to put down a deposit and dealer locate. It was a great experience – straightforward on the price of the Fit, and a good deal on my trade. I knew that Fits were difficult to find so I expected a bit of a wait. John and I stayed in touch over the next few weeks. He gave me updates when I asked, and worked diligently to find one. I had my own financing, and the folks at Waikem worked with them without a hitch. Less than a month later I drove home my new Honda Fit. Very satisfied with the car and the dealer. More
Always a problem. Always a catch. Always a disappointment. Sadly, didn't learn from my mistakes. Recommended both sister and mother buy cars from Waikem and both times ended in embarrassme disappointment. Sadly, didn't learn from my mistakes. Recommended both sister and mother buy cars from Waikem and both times ended in embarrassment. In 2005, a BRAND NEW Honda Accord delivered dirty with grease stains on the interior and carpet and not even washed. Salesman had to come out and do it while we waited to drive car home. This sale was riddled with tiring (and dated) car sales tactics. Had to haggle with the trade-in. More recently, A 2000 Audi A6 delivered dirty again (not even washed!) with a dead battery and locking wheel lug nuts with no key. (Mother left stranded with a flat tire because of this) When I called for assistance, I was put on hold and told there was nothing they could do. Service at Waikem Honda is persistently sub-par. Unprofessional treatment. Completely unfair pricing and substandard work on several occasions. Lesson learned. More
