My wife & I were severely mistreated by some "other" dealership, and we decided to take a look into Dickson Hyundai. I sent an email to them, letting them know how we were loosing our faith in Hyundai's dealership, and we decided to take a look into Dickson Hyundai. I sent an email to them, letting them know how we were loosing our faith in Hyundai's brand, due to this horrible experience we had. Their (Dickson City Hyundai) advertising worked on us, as we heard & saw ads for them a lot in our area. Sal called me the following day, and was very friendly. He completely understood our feelings, and was happy to get the exact car we were looking for (it would have to be ordered). He did not try and sell us on "other" cars, or up-sell us on useless garbage we did not want. In short, Sal made us happy from the start! Later (the same day) we visited Sal at Dickson City Hyundai. What a nice guy! He was well dressed, very friendly, and was as well mannered as can be. We sat down and began the usual "sales" process. Now, let me say this again. Sal - the salesman was an A++! Here, is where it all goes wrong. I feel bad for Sal, because he went for his usual initial price quote from his sales manager. He returned a few minutes later, and from his delivery, it was apparent that this was quite possibly the worst deal on the face of the planet. We had already run all of the numbers, and knew exactly what we wanted to pay. What we wanted to pay: This amounted to exactly $750 less than the MSRP on the car! It would afford my wife the exact monthly payment she is comfortable with. I explained this to Sal, and he 100% agreed! He knew it was not a good deal, and he quickly went back to see what could be done. Again, he returned, and again appeared to not be impressed with his own offering. I asked Sal a simple question: ..."Who pays full price for a new car?" He had no answer! You know what that old us? Sal is a good salesmen! He really, really meant well. IF the sales manager took $750 off of the MSRP, Dickson City Hyundai would have gotten our money. Sal fought for it! He even stayed an hour and a half late to help us! The disappointment on his face said everything as we left. Truly, Sal will have a bright future in his industry, and we wish him well. So... In all of this, what do I have to say about Dickson City Hyundai!? What does this long story equate to. Marketing: Effective. Hooked us! Prices: Horrible. Expect to pay MSRP - or else! Sales Manager has poor bargaining skills/abilities. Dickson City Hyundai Sales: The best Sales staff that cares about you! Top Notch! A+! Ask for Sal!!! Dickson City Hyundai Management: Horrible. The owner of the company needs to fire this person. A $750 loss off of the MSRP is the smallest discount you could ask for! This is the Managements loss. And should be viewed as a punishment to only Sal. In contacting a few other dealerships, I have gotten prices at $900 off very easily! Further more, I have noticed the managements response to some of these bad reviews. It is written in ALL CAPS! AS IF YOU ARE GETTING YELLED AT. PUNCTUATION AND CAPITALIZATION IS A GOOD THING! YOU LOOK UNEDUCATED WHEN YOU TYPE LIKE THIS, AS IF YOU COULDN'T EVEN TAKE THE TIME TO LEARN HOW TO TYPE ON A KEYBOARD! VERY UNPROFESSIONAL OF YOU! A TRUE REPRESENTATION OF HOW YOU TREATED US AND OTHER PEOPLE! You enforce your authority without compassion or dignity. Please help us with proper responses. I am sure the person who responds to these will flame me. As this is likely to insult them. I would also imagine that the manager will punish Sal for NOT "up-selling" "pushing the deal"...etc You know, the normal "shark" practices that sales managers press upon their staff. I feel horrible for writing this. My intention is to not hurt ANY business. I especially do not wish to offend Sal what-so-ever, or get him in trouble. However, it is the inevitable that someone will read this, and another sale will be lost. For that, I am sorry. I am open to the sales managers opinion on this, as well as the company owners. I would be delighted to speak with this company owner in fact! I welcome and invite them to correct their behavior. Perhaps maybe even a reply via a properly formatted sentence. :) Show us all why we SHOULD buy with you! That's what this site is about! We want to know if you are the right company to buy with, so show us already! Sal deserves a reward for putting up with this company. He will inevitably become very successful. If you are lucky enough to get him for your Salesmen, tell him of what you have read! With the above experience I have had, and the information I have gathered. Both from this site, the BBB, the internet & people in my community. I think Dickson City Hyundai should be avoided until they reorganize their management department. At this time, I can not recommend them. We shall see what the future brings for this dealership. I have hope that they will become a better organization, as can be seen in at least one of their salesmen. More
Overall good experience despite being there for nearly 6 hours. At one point I waited for nearly 45 minutes without speaking to a single person. Have had Tucson 3 weeks now. Gas mileage is great in comparison to the Jeep I was driving. Love the styling and have had many compliments regarding same. Sarge was fantastic( very patient) in answeri comparison to the Jeep I was driving. Love the styling and have had many compliments regarding same. He was very knowledgable about the car in his explanations and I drove off the lot not worrying that I didn't know how something worked. More
Bill Capo really earned our sale. He worked diligently to put us in the best car within our budget. He patiently addressed all of our concerns and guided us through the process of our purchase. When i when to Dickson City Hyundai they where vary friendly and nice I am vary sadafid with my car i got from then and John was grate and helpful. They are very friendly, BUT... they are not only very pushy, wanting you to take a car home before you even contact your own bank or insurance company, but they OVER PRICE their cars. Right after we got there, I was just informed of bad news in the family. I told them I did not want to make any deals because I of this news. I was not thinking straight. I told them I could only afford $160 per month. Well, they came back with this ridicules figure of almost $300. I told them no so Ralph went to talk to Carlos, and he came back with a $230 figure, which I said I would consider, but I still wanted to talk to my bank. They kept after me to take the car, I kept saying I wanted to talk to my bank and insurance company. They kept saying they would take care of it all. I also kept asking for the CarFax and they kept stalling. They said that leaving a $1000 check would hold the car. I kept asking for the CarFax and finally had to go right back into their office and demand it. When I walked into that office, there was like 8 men back there and they all looked like a bunch of vultures waiting for there next meal. I notified them the next day that I was not taking the car because I contacted my bank and found out that the car which they were selling for $15,999 was blue booked for $9,995. Talk about a profit line. PLEASE what ever you do, use caution with this dealer. They will take you for everything. More
Today I went into this dealership looking for a new car. I worked with John he gave me his undivided attention along with the management. I went to Dickson City Hyundai to look for a used car. I was approached by a salesman named Jesse. He was very attentive and answered all of my questions promptly. He wasnt like all those other salemen who are just worried about their commisson and getting you out quick. he helped me in everyway possible and made sure i was estatic with the purchase i was making before i left, which is truly an important factor. i am a very happy customer and with my beautiful car! i would reccomend michael hayes to anyone who was ready to purchase a car. We came to this dealer 10 minutes to closing on a Saturday. In the pouring rain! We hoped to see a 2011 Sonata in the showroom but it had just been sold. Sarge (our salesman) had the guys pull a Sonata into the garage for us to look at. It was appreciated that we didn't get soaked or waste our trip to Dickson City Hyundai. We returned on Monday to buy the car!!! So far we LOVE IT!! More
