I bought a new car here and the best GM extended warranty they offered. I had them repair an issue that is covered by the manufacturer warranty, after a week of diagnosis and me without a car. They did not g they offered. I had them repair an issue that is covered by the manufacturer warranty, after a week of diagnosis and me without a car. They did not give me a loner car that warranty says I am entitled to. They instead sent my warranty info to Enterprise rental cars and sent me there to pick up a car that they will pay most of the cost per my warranty. Free waiting 2-3 hours for a car at Enterprise I was informed that I had to pay first with a credit card to get the car. So now I’m finding out that Genthe will pay me back when I return the car. The reason is that Genthe doesn’t pay the rental car company what is owed, an employee tells me this. Meanwhile Genthe tells me that my other problem with my car is electrical and I need $400 diagnostic test. They say my expensive GM extended warranty should cover the electrical repair costs including the diagnostic test. The problem was a wire that they had to take my bumper off to find was disconnected at the spot where it plugs in. They tell me it’s not covered by warranty because it’s normal wear and tear. Really? Sounds like a bad part or a design flaw or a manufacturer defect to me. But I paid for the repair. Now I get my fully repaired car back and a few days later I call Michael Leidner and ask when will I be reimbursed for my over $600 car rental? He says I need to bring him my paid receipt. First time anyone mentioned this. I immediately emailed it to him. Soon after he calls me and tells me in a nonchalant manner that GM will not reimburse me for the rental because the rental car was not a GM vehicle. I think this guy is doing some shady business there. He is the manager of the service department therefore I place all blame on him. I believe I was lied to and robbed by this establishment. I definitely will not be purchasing our new truck from Genthe this summer. I’m telling everyone I can about this scam. More

However, when I removed my foot from the pedal (during the speed range) both of the issues would stop immediately – including that both issues were only happening at the 40 to 44 MPH range. I had taken it to Belle Tire before I dropped it off to ensure there were no tire issues. Belle Tire gave me a complete print out of the test they did which showed absolutely no issues with my tires.” - I was called the same day to approve a “Road Force Test” to rule out any tire issues and was quoted a fee of $125.00. I could provide documentation of no issues with my tires, Ron replied “I cannot not move forward with any service on the vehicle without the Road Force Test due to the Chevy Corporate checklist. If you do not approve the test, you might as well come back and pick your car up”. - I approved the test and was told by Mike (service manager) that the rear tire needed to be replaced and was given two completely different reasons why. I was denied a tire rotation request to see if that would give any further indication of the tire or source of vibrations. Mike stated "I am 100% sure of what Ron is telling me and that replacing the tire will solve the issue." - Approved the tire replacement, only to be told that my vehicle still failed the driven road test and there was still wobbling and shaking followed by Ron stating “it might still be another tire” – but the other 3 tires passed the Road Force Test. - Pico scope test verified axles needed to be replaced. I asked Ron which axles – Ron stated “both rear axles”. I questioned the tire replacement again Ron had no answer, replied “a damaged rear axle may cause the wobbling and shaking in the front”. -Was told I owed $429.53 and was not given documents on my original tire showing failure. The paperwork stated the FRONT axles were replaced. -Mike said "“sometimes Ron says one thing but actually means another. But the front axle and back axle are the same thing so”. My fiancé and I spoke with Mike but were told TWICE " I am done talking to you about this, I have nothing further to say" and told us to file a claim with Chevy corporate. - Got home and realized my front bumper was not attached correctly but Genthe is stating they never touched my bumper. ** Edit to original post There is an active “GM Technical Service Bulletin #20-NA-227” for 2020 to 2022 Equinox models which covers a “Wobble Vibration on Hard Acceleration” – the “condition” listed on the bulletin is the exact compliant that the service department was given when I dropped my vehicle off (this bulletin information was not communicated to me until yesterday). Mr. Genthe did reach out to me following several posted reviews. He acknowledged and apologized for how the service department staff handled communication and the overall experience while my vehicle was in their possession however, there is still a disconnect on how the compliant was handled. Mr. Genthe also made an attempt to rectify some of the issues by offering a detailed interior cleaning and to have the service department “look at my bumper”. I did communicate my appreciation to Mr. Genthe for taking the time to contact me however, I did ultimately decline his offer as I felt it was in my best interest to not have any further service provided through or communication with the service department. In response to my reviews, I have had other service department team members from other Chevy dealership locations reach out to me personally and have offered their assistance. I still fully stand by my review of how my vehicle and experience was handled through the Genthe service department and I believe consumers have the right to be made aware of potential customer service issues. Poor communication. Made unauthorized repairs to vehicle without previous authorization. My $500.00 approved estimate turned into $900.00 without approval. Both times I was told I had to leave it 3-5 business days before they looked at it and NO loaner would be provided. Would have cost me about $600.00 for a rental. Took it to a local reliable mechanic who diagnosed a defective sway bar link and had it repaired in 4 hours. Cost for repair was a lot cheaper than a car rental. More

We went 5 or 6 times to Moran and taylor to have it corrected. It never seemed to correct, and lights kept coming on with no apparent vehicle problems. So we decided to try genthe, they had our car for a week, and it seems they took the car apart and it has become undrivable now. It shakes uncontrollably and has several very apparent problems. I was warned by a friend to not come here, but recommended by another. Took a chance, wish I would’ve listened to the first friend. Nice people at desks, terrible service More
Horrible customer service. Today I had a nail in my 2020 Equinox retire that I lease from them. Called the service dept. to see if they had the tire I need, because Discount Tire did not. After giving the girl in parts my vin number and telling her the name of the tire, she went to see if they had it. After 10 minutes on hold, I was disconnected. Called back and got voice mail. I left my name and number and waited for a call back THAT I NEVER GOT. I called Bates Chevrolet, immediately was told they had the tire and I had it replaced in 45 minutes. Still no call back from Genthe. Bates will sell me my next car. More
