DiabloSubaru New Car Purchase Diablo Subaru is pretty close to my house; I'm about 1/2 way between this dealer and the Oakland and Albany dealers so any of the dealers would have b Diablo Subaru is pretty close to my house; I'm about 1/2 way between this dealer and the Oakland and Albany dealers so any of the dealers would have been ok to start with. I initially went to Diablo because it's next Chick Fil-A and I was going to get some dinner there. I stopped in for info the first visit picked up a bit of literature and headed off. A few weeks later my wife and I came back to test out the Outback and Forester. It was pretty easy just gave the salesman a copy of our licenses and off we went in the cars. After we finished test driving the cars we decided test a few others cars at other dealerships and went home to make a decision. I emailed a few of the other dealerships but didn't hear back so that pretty much cemented my decision to use Diablo. We decided on an Outback and came back week later. The lot was pretty thin, but the salesman said he'd find us the color/package/model we wanted. Several days later they found the car and the following weekend we picked it up. The car was perfect exactly what was promised and we closed the deal and went home in our new car. Pros: + Salesmen are relatively low pressure + While they didn't give us the rock bottom cheapest price negotiating was fairly simple; I didn't feel as if they had ganked us even after we left + Knowledgeable about their product line and pricing/financing available; I can't say this about all dealers I've visited. Cons: - After we had agreed on price and our credit was approved it took forever to get out of there - I guess they have to try, but I get annoyed at the scare tactic attempts to sell extended coverage and add-on warranties. (I will note that the ding removal is actually a fair deal since the it's unlimited over the warranty; I park at Bart) Overall: I like this place the people seem nice enough and easy to work with; they are a little slow and I felt a little like I was working around them as opposed to them working around me. That being said the pricing wasn't too bad and I would probably go back. More
Overall a very good experience I had a 2:00pm appointment, which I had made over a week prior to the date. The service person looked a bit perplexed and asked if I had a confirmation number for the appointment. I did not. He told me that there was no appointment booked, but that he would take care of me anyway, which he did. I was happy to wait for my car to be ready, but a gentleman came to the waiting room and asked if I wanted. ride home. That.was great, and I happily accepted. My husband arrived home later and we picked the car up. Everything was taken care of and I would recommend this dealership to anyone. More
