A few months ago, I realized that the car I bought from Destination Ford of Dumas was sold to me through fraud and intentional misrepresentation of the vehicle's value. I had expressed this goal to the dealership, especially because the high interest rate initially offered was challenging to manage long-term. On October 17, 2024, I spoke to Trent Winters, the manager of Destination Ford of Dumas. After not receiving the callback I was promised, I followed up and was informed that Mr. Winters was instructed not to speak with me further. On the same day, I reached out to the corporate entity that owns the dealership, Khoury Auto Group, and spoke to Salma Jones, their customer care director. Ms. Jones asked me to contact the general manager of Destination Ford. The following day, October 18, 2024, my spouse and I traveled to Dumas to speak with Cody Grove, the general manager of Destination Ford. We explained the entire situation, but instead of assisting us, he was rude, frequently raising his voice and grimacing throughout our conversation. Mr. Grove stated that if the dealership had convinced us the value of our 2020 Prius Prime was $39,000—despite Kelley Blue Book and other sources valuing it around $23,500—and assured us that this valuation would result in no negative equity in the vehicle, there was nothing wrong with that. He also said that if the dealership used outdated valuations that failed to consider the extensive hail damage sustained on their lot shortly before the sale, that too was acceptable. At the time, he dismissed our concerns as hearsay since we had not yet located the recordings of these claims. Since then, I have found the recordings and sent them to Ms. Jones. However, I have not received any further communication from Khoury Auto Group to resolve this deceptive sale. *Dealership presented an inflated value of $38,000 despite KBB's $24,000 without hail damage which was never reported so it did not reflect the true value, claiming a $16,000 "discount" (as heard in audio recording) that obscured real values and distracted me from the math I knew was not adding up...and still sold the car at a higher price than what we were expecting while making it look like they were giving us a great deal. This was after originally trying to charge us more and make the loan $42,000. Negative Equity (NE) was the reason we were trading out of the Rav4. We did not want high amounts of it. We went from $9,385 in NE to $13,365 NE (by trading down from a better vehicle in better condition that has held it's value much better) before accounting for hail damage on the new vehicle and we were tricked into believing we were actually positive equity instead after the trade and were getting a great deal. Had we not been tricked, we would have been much better off judging by the KBB values that the dealership convinced us to ignore and the current (possibly also the past) values according to JD Power. Because of this deception, we have been unable to sale, trade or refinance the 2020 Prius Prime and we are close to repossession and having our credit ruined. More

They're quick to sell - they do not follow up on promises I dealt primarily with Joel on the phone. When we came to some sort of terms I was passed to Dennis who was supposed to finalize the deal. I was told that I qualified for a $750 incentive as a veteran, however, when I came in to sign the paperwork and pick up the vehicle Ron initially forgot - then only gave me a $500 incentive. Did he pocket the $250???? Ron was all "car dealer" smoozy and talkative. He never gave me any paperwork at the time of purchase - promising to Fedex the paperwork the next day. That was on the 9th of July. I called last week and Ron told me that he forgot and he would make a copy and send it out that day. Today is the 28th of July, and I still have not received the paperwork from the purchase of my vehicle. I called and asked that Steve the general manager contact me - he never followed up. I had to call him back. I have not reached him yet - so I do not know what their resolution will be - if any............ If you are an out of town buyer - beware! Their commitment is to their $$ pocket book $$ and not to the customer. Added 13 Aug 2015: Steve made amends. Errors were made on the dealers part of this deal. Fenton Ford mailed me a check for $250 that they failed to give me credit for initilally. Joel did a great job during the entire transaction. Despite a very strong dislike for surveys - I filled one out for FOMOCO also. It was also negative. I believe that Steve and the employees @ Fenton Ford will make a better effort in the future. My initial review stands because in the customer service business usually the first impression is the lasting one. More

Within 5 mins the Internet Manager Ron Garverick called me and was very professional and knowledgeable on the trucks. We worked out numbers online and came to an agreement and Bam! my wife and I made a long trip to Dumas from Dallas. I know people are thinking that wouldn't Dallas have better deals I can admit I thought the same thing at first but nobody came close to Fenton Ford. On top of that everything was ready when we walked through the door. We signed and were back on our way to Dallas within 15 minutes. If you are reading this don't think twice go see Ron and the fine staff at Fenton Ford for your next purchase its well worth it. More
