I had heard stories about dealerships, but never actually had a bad experience until here. I got a quote from a salesperson at desert Toyota for a used car I was looking to sell. It seemed like a generous offer, so I asked a lot of questions on the phone about how they were estimating the quote and whether anything would change the value of the quote. I was told repeatedly that it was a good number. The salesperson also insisted that I could make an appointment on Memorial Day to do the exchange. I had made several personal accommodations based on what this salesperson told me, so was dismayed to arrive at my scheduled appointment only to be told they could only offer significantly less than the quote. If that was the only thing, I honestly would have been fine. Like I said, I had already suspected the quote was over generous. But the way the employees of Desert Toyota handles the situation was beyond fathomable for me. It was a complete run around full of half truths and fake haggling and just overall weirdness that turned my stomach. I was just about ready to be done with the experience and just do the transaction, and then they say their business office isn't open on Memorial Day anyway, so there's no way they could pay me for the car. This was the last straw. I had travelled a long distance to get here for the appointment for this purpose, which they knew, but didn't mention until the last moment. I think they felt they could trap me with no options and get an even better deal for themselves. I walked away and will never do any business with a Toyota dealer in the Tucson area again (they were also communicating with Precision Toyota and knew the exact date and amount of an earlier quote I had gotten there, and encouraged me to go see if they would give me a better deal, at which point I'm sure they would have also taken back the previous quote and given me another run around). I am so disappointed at the lack of integrity of these people. It was like a joke to them, and a complete waste of my time and effort. More
I have bought 2 brand new corrollas from desert Toyota. My 2017 corrolla, and then my current 2020 after the first was totaled. On Sunday at 6am I eviscerated my tire on my way in to work. When I went to p My 2017 corrolla, and then my current 2020 after the first was totaled. On Sunday at 6am I eviscerated my tire on my way in to work. When I went to pull out the spare it was missing! I also didn't have a jack. So I'm on the side of the highway with no way to fix my vehicle. It did have a tire repair kit but my tire was far beyond a flat. I brought it to th attention of desert Toyota and they told me they could order me a new tire and jack for a bout $500. Which i thought was included with my $25000 purchase. They also said to use my repair kit which once again was useless in this situation. Safety is my 100% concern especially when my wife also drives this car. They just didn't seemed concerned about it. What if I didn't have service to call my wife to help? Very disappointed. They should make it explicitly clear to their costumers that the vehicles they selling brand new don't include the spare tire and jack that almost everyone has come to expect for emergency situations when you need it the most.
