I went through 4 salesman at Desert before finding one I felt comfortable working with, Victor. Patrick and Ryan do not work there anymore, so I obviously had no choice but to work with someone else. Ryan recommended I work with Lucas, and while he's a nice guy, he needs to learn a little when it comes to dealing with customers. On our test drive, he drove recklessly down 22nd, doing about 80-90MPH, weaving in and out of cars, and overall making me fear for my safety a little. Even when I was behind the wheel, he seemed to be completely enveloped by the task of getting the Entune system to sync with his iPhone (on which he has God awful music, just saying). Not someone I wanted to work with, so I walked out. I then found Victor, who was very courteous, professional, and laid back. I test drove a truck with him, and went inside to purchase it. When we had gotten about 1/2 way through the process, we learned that another salesman had shown the truck while we were doing paperwork, and circumvented the proper procedures in order to sell the truck out from underneath me. I was negotiating on the vehicle first! That was completely unprofessional, and I left furious. I went to Precision Toyota that night and purchased a 2008 Tundra, and I'm very happy with my experience there. Victor is someone I would recommend to anyone looking to buy a vehicle, but watch out for the other guys - a generic chimpanzee would be better suited to sell cars than they are. More
Went in to look at a new 2011 truck.. test drive was fine, trade-in appraisal fine.. but the "haggling" over the price of the new car was a joke. I bought a used car at Desert Toyota about 3 weeks ago - then the nightmare began. I had to call and ask Anthony again and again for basic information such as when my car will be ready; if there is a secon then the nightmare began. I had to call and ask Anthony again and again for basic information such as when my car will be ready; if there is a second key available; to please send me a copy of the service report. I had to take the car back to have the emissions test done as they did not do that during the 3-4 days they had it. Despite a promise to refill the tank when I brought in the cat for the test - Anthony did not do that either. I also asked Anthony a number of times - in front of witnesses - where the car was in terms of services; the general state of the car and when I should be planning for mayor service repairs. At long last he said it should be ok for the next 5000 miles. BUT AFTER LESS THAN 200 miles the car started making such a bad noise it seems to on the verge of falling apart. That is just uncaring and unethical. More
By far this was the worst experience I have ever had at a business, let alone a car dealership. I thought I was in a horror movie or something. What a terrible person to deal with! This person, Daryl, supposedly a manager was rude, abrasive and certainly not helpful. He reeked of cigarette smoke, left the windshield of my car smudged with his greasy hands. He did not address any of my questions and kept me waiting for entirely too long. I can only guess that this is how this dealership is managed. The old school control and intimidate the customer into buying a car. In addition, Daryl treated his salesman in an extremely unprofessional manner. Not something a customer should ever have to witness. The "manager" sitting high and mighty behind the central desk was also rude to both me and the salesman. Whoever owns this dealership, and Toyota, should be ashamed of their "business" practices. I've always been told, "never take your car to a dealer for service unless you want to get ripped off..." After dealing with Kyle Brooks for nearly 4 years, that myth has been dispelled. Kyle is the definition of "customer service" and integrity. Kyle and his techs have always diagnosed my problems down to something that costed me little or nothing. Many mechanics have billed me for parts that don't need replacing or bogus repairs when they can't find the problem. Kyle is very honest and works very hard to accommodate your needs. More
This is a follow-up to a one star review that I gave Desert Toyota nearly three years ago. Since that time, new information has become available that directly relates to my experience. My vehicle was Desert Toyota nearly three years ago. Since that time, new information has become available that directly relates to my experience. My vehicle was equipped with a dealer installed TRD supercharger. This is important because it is now widely known that this option can significantly contribute to the catalytic converter failure I experienced. There are many shops aware of this and several countermeasures are available. Desert Toyota was unable to properly diagnose the issue, and spent many hours and replaced several perfectly good parts in an unsuccessful attempt to locate the problem. They even went so far as to fabricate a lie in order to shift the repair from warranty to customer pay. Why would they do this? Because Toyota Motor Company will not pay a dealer's warranty claim without a defective part as proof of the part failure. They were about to lose a lot of money in parts and labor time because they were only making poor guesses as to the cause. As I said previously, many good parts were replaced in their expensive shotgun therapy approach to diagnosis, and the vehicle still was not repaired. Being a technically minded person, I provided Desert with numerous resources that debunked their ridiculous contention, including independent test results of the good components that were replaced. Even when presented with several undeniable facts, the management of Desert Toyota continued to steadfastly stand behind the deception they created. I can't begin to describe the betrayal I felt. As more and more of these failures and their cause become known around the country, it becomes more obvious that Desert was not only incompetent, but actually committed fraud. Sadly, this is how my 14 year relationship with Desert Toyota ended. They are all smiling and friendly as long as you go along with what they have in mind. I believe they prefer an ignorant consumer and despise an educated one. The good in all of this is that I have found integrity, competence and honesty in the folks at Sierra Toyota. Precision hasn't been too bad either. If you must do business with Desert, please be informed and be cautious. More
I made a deal on a used 2008 4Runner.Everybody was very friendly. While I was waiting half an hour for a available Finance Person I decided to take another look at the vehicle. I found the skid plate had way to much damage on it for a one year old 4X4, and there was more damage on the roof (mulitple dents). So I felt this truck had been abused in its short life and did not want to pay for a car someone had beat up. They were not happy when I said I wanted to sleep on it, the smiles turned to angry frowns and the manager "Matt" said he could not give me same deal tomarrow. I left feeling like I had just insulted thier mothers. Not a pleasant experience. More
