I would suspect that this was just a bad experience with one sales person, but I ultimately worked with 2 sales people, 2 managers, 2 customer service agents, and the general sales manager. They were so caught up in their lies, they couldn't keep their story straight, so this is clearly a culture there, not just a bad seed. I would not recommend dealing with this dealership. The worst experience of sleazy auto sales I've seen. The craziest part is: I wasn't asking for anything special. I simply wanted to buy the car at the price they gave me. Feel free to ask me any questions. More

Failed on so many levels. Can I give negative stars? I bought a low mileage 2014 Camry from Desert Toyota in Tucson. I liked the Camry and still do but the problems with this one began already while hand I bought a low mileage 2014 Camry from Desert Toyota in Tucson. I liked the Camry and still do but the problems with this one began already while handing over the keys. Already during the buying process I asked about the validity of the Carfax report and was assured it is correct. After the sale I found rental car paperwork in the car, proving that the car was used as a rental car, which was not disclosed in the Carfax report or during the sales process. I specifically asked whether the car was a smoker’s car, which the salesperson could not answer. After driving the car for 3 weeks, the overwhelming cabin deodorant they put in faded and it became clear now that people smoked in this car. There is no way this was not discovered by the dealer and may very well be the reason why the interior was so heavily deodorized. Not disclosing this when asked is another straight-out lie. The dealer also asked me to consider an additional fee for a certification, which would be ‘as if I buy a new car’. After declining this certification, I did not receive a user’s manual, service booklet, second set of keys / valet key. All I ever received was the car itself and one key. I had several used cars of several makes before and none of them came like this. After asking about it, they just told me that I would have gotten these things if I had the car certified. Without the certification I only get what I got. For a one year old car, sold by an official Toyota dealer, with all the warranties still valid, this is pretty poor. After I brought the car home, I found fast food trash under the seats in this car after wondering where a strange new smell comes from. The receipt I found with it was dated just days before I bought the car. Not only did this dealership use it for God knows what, they didn't even clean up their own trash. Before the sale the car had a dent in the left front fender, which was repaired before delivery. The repaired fender looked like crumpled paper, there was not an inch of straight surface in the whole area. The dealer agreed to call me and schedule a time to repair this fender again. They never called, after 3 weeks I had to track them down and they eventually scheduled an appointment. After leaving my car with them overnight, they sent me a notification that my car is ready and that I can pick it up at my convenience. I took some time off from work to get to the dealership (20 minute drive) just to learn that my car is not ready and would not be ready for another 5 hours. They acted like it is my fault, I “should only come in if they call, not if they send me an email”. Really? When I finally picked up the car later that day I noticed that it was driven for nine miles and the gas gauge was reduced by a whole notch. For a job that was allegedly done in house, this seems like an awful lot. It also is frightening that these nine miles reduced the gas in the tank so significantly, how did they handle my car while they had it? Was this the reason why the car was suddenly not available for me to pick up even though they told me it was? Did someone take it out for a spin? On my way home I noticed what I first thought of as dirt on my windshield. It became clear very fast that this was not dirt but paint. They did not cover my windshield correctly and accidentally painted all over my windshield on the driver's side! When driving towards the sun I almost couldn't see anything, making the whole car dangerous and useless since my way to work is always against the sun, east in the morning and west in the afternoon. A week later I received another email from Desert Toyota, thanking me that I serviced my car with them, that the service is finished and that my car is now ready to be picked up. Well, I never brought it in, how can it be ready to be picked up? This just falls in line with the overall unprofessional practices I experienced earlier. They do not even have a clue whether or not my car is in their possession at the moment and whether or not they performed work on it? Unfortunately not even Toyota Headquarters was willing to help me. They basically told me it was my decision to buy from Desert Toyota and that I now have to stick with them for all issues and re-work that may be necessary. This was the last Toyota I ever bought. If this is how they do business I don’t want another one, not even from a different dealer. More

The level of customer service at Desert Toyota far exceeds other dealers of new cars and I make this statement because I assisted my mother in buying a new car from another manufacturer 2 weeks after my purchase. At Desert when I asked for location of a water fountain, my salesperson immediately took off to find me a bottle of water. When the same thing happened at the other dealership, the salesman didn't even bother to get up from behind his desk to take me to the water fountain; he gave me directions to the water fountain and off handedly, added the directions to the vending machine with the water. To me, it was the difference between first class service versus NOT first class service. The little things as well as the big things make Desert Toyota stand out! As this is my 2nd Prius purchase from Desert in 5 years, I can now say that I am relatively sure that I will make my next car purchase there as well and hopefully, Stan will still be working there and sale me a car for the 3rd time. Yes, that's right, Stan Derricotte, was there for both my new Prius purchases, over a span of 5 years! How nice was that! More
