I filled out an online inquiry for Deland Kia, several minutes later I received a call. During our call I explained that my wife and I wanted to purchase a new Kia Optima and trade in our 2012 Camero. I f minutes later I received a call. During our call I explained that my wife and I wanted to purchase a new Kia Optima and trade in our 2012 Camero. I further explained our current poor credit situation, how much we owed on our current vehicle and the mileage. I was told over the phone that I had nothing to worry about because they had a diverse set of lenders and that if I came down to their location they would get my wife and I into a new Kia today. Once I got their the internet sales manager I was supposed to be meeting with pushed me off onto another associate and after I had dropped what I was doing to make it down there right away. The whole experience was extremely impersonal and I felt more like a number then a person. After sitting around for almost 2 hours I was notified that there was nothing they could do to help us because we were to upside down with our current vehicle and credit rating. What really upsets me the most is that I did not want to waste my time just to be told no and even after I was assured that Deland Kia would be able to get me into a car today. What really happened was that Deland Kia lied to me, just to get me in front of there sales staff just in case they could sell me a car. Does this sound to you like a dealership who's goals state: "Our goal here at Deland Kia is to provide the community a company which will satisfy their transportation needs and instill dignity, honesty and integrity. We are a company made up of real people who are committed to excellence and who stand behind their word. We use compassion throughout our day as a statement of who we are and what we will do to fulfill the needs and desires of our patrons and fellow employees." I would not recommend this dealership to anyone, just imagine if they will lie to you to get you into the door, what else are they lying about? More

I was shown the Kia Soul by Dana Peege who is a super-nice sales person and did her job very well. She did not know anything about a "Buyer's Order" however, which was what my credit union (who ha super-nice sales person and did her job very well. She did not know anything about a "Buyer's Order" however, which was what my credit union (who had approved me for a loan) asked me to have faxed to them. She had the Sales Manager, Tom Casper, come in to try and get me to use "their financing" which was at a significantly higher interest rate. I stated several times that I would only complete the deal if my credit union would accept this car at this price for the financing that I was approved for at the much lower rate. Tom Casper sent me on to Mark Allen to do the paperwork. Mark Allen had us sign several unexplained documents and told us that he would not give us any copies of these documents because they would all be re-written in the morning after the credit union representative contacted them with approval. We left with the new car, and no documents except the copy of registration required by law to be in the vehicle at all times. The next day I was contacted by the credit union to tell me they refused to finance the car since the deal would leave me $2300 in the hole at delivery - Deland Kia had overpriced the Soul by $2300 over book value. I immediately took the Soul back to the dealership. Eric Nyaga greeted me and said that he could not get to the paperwork, since Mark Allen had locked it up in his office and was off that day, so he could not take the car back at that time. Eric told me to keep driving the Soul but not to put more than 500 miles on it, since they could not take it back with more than 500 miles. The following day I attempted again to return the Soul. This time Tom Casper greeted me and accused me of lying about the entire arrangement, including telling me that Mark Allen (who had given me his card) had not worked there for 6 months and "there is no way my trained finance professional would ever agree to a deal like that" i.e. holding the paperwork for credit union contact and approval. Tom Casper yelled at me and refused to accept the car. He spoke with his "GM" whom he named as "J.D." and they concluded that they had a final sale and I was stuck with the car. He said I was lying about not having any paper copies and that it was illegal for that to have been done. I left the car there and returned both keys, which was all I had. I left with him yelling at me that the car was "Your car, and you are liable for it!" The next day, Eric Nyaga called me and was very polite, asking if there was anything they could do to earn my business and I said that after they way I was treated by Tom Casper and J.D., and apparently lied to in the first place when told that they had no idea what a "Buyer's Order" was - there was no way I would consider doing business with Deland Kia. I feel like they were trying to force me to take the car on their terms. This deal was unprofessional if not worse, and I will tell everyone I can to avoid Deland Kia. It is too bad that someone as nice as Dana Peege and even Eric Nyaga are associated with a company that employs the likes of Tom Casper and J.D., and perhaps the mysteriously employed Mark Allen. Don't risk dealing with Deland Kia! More
