Wow, know I can see why it's easy to sell these cars!! I came in to do a trade. I had only had my 2011 Honda Accord for 6 months, but the Kia Optima caught my eye:) The were great with working with me I came in to do a trade. I had only had my 2011 Honda Accord for 6 months, but the Kia Optima caught my eye:) The were great with working with me and getting the deal to work with what I could afford. Did I mention that the Optima is a GREAT CAR!!! It's roomy enough for 4 comfortably and handles like a sports car!!! It has so many "extras", I delighted!! Here is the thing for what I paid for the Optima, yea I could of gotten a New Honda, Nissan or Toyota, but not with as many features for the same price!!!! This car feels and "spot car" shaped. I felt quite out of place in the Honda, but in the Optima "right at home". :) I LOVE LOVE IT!! I guess that goes back to the old saying, as long as you like/love what your purchasing, you will make the price work. More

DeLand Kia was our first stop on the day my wife and I went shopping for a new car. We figured that if we were not impressed with them we could go to plenty of other places. Needless to say, we stayed rig went shopping for a new car. We figured that if we were not impressed with them we could go to plenty of other places. Needless to say, we stayed right there. We met a salesman named "Magnum" (got to love that) and began the process. He spent time trying to find out what our needs were and what kind of car we were looking for. He then took us for a test drive in a Kia Sportage, explaining as we went along many of the features, and answering our many questions as we drove. Back at the showroom he sat down with us to figure out the types of features we wanted and, ofcourse, the all important color. We decided on a LX Sportage in a black-cherry color. "Magnum" helped us to work out a good deal on our trade and the final price. He also spent alot of time sitting with us in our new car, explaining all of the features in detail before we drove off. What a great experience we had! The best part happened a few days later as my wife and I were eating in our local Pizza Hut, looking out the window at our new car in the parking lot. A bunch of college students from the local university were walking all around our car, looking it over, pointing different things out in a very animated fashion. For the two of us, who are in our 60's, that was pretty cool! Thanks again to Mike "Magnum" Mewhorter and the entire DeLand Kia team for a great experience. More

This was the worst experience I've ever had in purchasing ANYTHING! The salesmen "tag-teamed", bullied, confused, degraded and lied repeatedly. Then, the finance manager followed the same patter purchasing ANYTHING! The salesmen "tag-teamed", bullied, confused, degraded and lied repeatedly. Then, the finance manager followed the same pattern of behavior with even more rudeness and haste! This dealership solely relies on the concept of lying to and bullying their customers. Right from the beginning, I was told "We have a big sale this weekend. Wholesalers are here offering $5000 over trade-in value on your trade-in." Those were lies! Not one vehicle on the lot was on sale and there were no wholesalers on the property, nor was there ever mention again of the wholesalers. After test driving a few cars and choosing one I liked, I went inside (when I got "passed on" from the original salesman to another) and was then told that the car was almost $8000 more than what the sticker read. Of course, as soon as I walked in the showroom, another salesman took the keys to my current car to "appraise" it. What they are really doing is making sure they have your car keys with the intention of not letting you have them back. A note to all future customers at Deland Kia: bring a spare key to the car you arrive there in and keep it in your pocket! Even after they lied to me about the price of the car I was interested in, I figured I'd give them the benefit of the doubt. Another BAD decision! The lies and aggression just got worse with each minute! Another note to future customers: The first lie you hear will be just a baby lie compared to what's to come. Leave as soon as you catch the first lie! After quite a while, I decided we weren't going to be able to come up with numbers we were all happy with. I told them I wanted the keys to my car back and wanted to go home and discuss it with my husband. Of course, they were NEVER going to hand my keys back to me! The salesman then left the room and sent in yet another salesman; the tag-teaming continues! He was more rude and aggressive than the previous one. He insisted on having me call my husband right there, which I did. My husband even said to just get the keys and come home so we could discuss it. After hanging up, the salesman told me to call my husband back and let him (the salesman) talk to him. I denied, and he dept pushing and pushing. He left and sent the original salesman in. Now, I'm getting fatigued, stressed, starting to feel like a prey animal in the middle of a bunch of hunters. Again, I asked for my keys so I could just leave. Again, it wasn't going to happen. At one point, the salesman told me to write them a check of almost $3000 for a down payment (to make my payments smaller). When I stated that I would not write a check for that amount without conferring with my husband, his response was "How's he gonna know how much you spend?". What a bully comment! Now they are trying to encourage me to lie to my husband! It was obvious that I wasn't going to get anywhere with them, so I finally begrudgingly agreed upon a monthly payment and term. I felt so beat up and worn out, knew they weren't going to return my keys, and I just wanted to get out of there so I would never have to return again. In hindsight, I should have just called the police and stated that they stole my car keys! They knew I was stressed and intimidated, they continued with a very heavy hand in aggression and intimidation. Every time I told them they were charging too much for the car (the sticker on the car was $8000 less than they were telling me), they would send different people in with different numbers scribbled on paper. Their goal is to confuse you and get your brain spinning; which is exactly what they did. By the time I headed into the Finance office, I had such a headache and just wanted to be free from those people. The finance manager had the same amount of class of personality as the rest of the salesmen. On top of all that horrible behavior, she was so rushed that you definitely lost sight of what was going on in her office! She started pushing papers in front of me to initial and sign (she was actually piling them on top of each other before I could even sign or read them). Again, the ploy was to make me feel overwhelmed so I would just sign and move on. Which I started to do; then I realized that they added on to the price again, AND they added another 12 months of financing! I was So worn out! I stopped signing and told her I just wanted to get my car keys and go home. I was crying, which made me feel even more vulnerable, embarrassed and angry. She brought in another "tag team" member to do some more confusing jostling of numbers, etc. In desperation to get out, I continued to sign... I felt like I had no choice. I've had the car for 2 weeks now, I can't even enjoy driving it. Every time I start the engine, I feel like I'm going to start crying again and it makes my stomach sick to think about how much more I am paying a month and many years they have me paying! They don't care if their customers get their vehicles reposessed. They got their money! To wrap things up: this entire dealership is all about how much they can work to use nothing but lies and aggression against their customers. Sad thing is, they have decent cars and they would make sales on the credibility of the cars honestly (without changing prices during the sale) and not have to use the pressure and "tag-teaming" tactics to wear people down to make a purchase. Now, they make sure they force the sale to move a car off their lot. They feel the need to rip people off for thousands of dollars to make up for the sales they aren't making on a regular basis. If they would be honest, fair and treat customers with respect; they would get referrals and more customers who would be happy to make a purchase. I will be contacting the CEO of Kia to let them know how Deland Kia is representing them. I'm sure Kia would like a reputation that their cars are dependable, reliable, reasonbly priced and sold because a customer is comfortable and happy with the whole process. I can't imagine Kia wants their name associated with a vehicle at a dealership that is so overpriced that each customer must be tricked, bullied and forced into buying it! More

my wife went car shopping while i was at work. loved the kia soul in that funky green color like on the commercial. wound up at Deland Kia. Was assisted my a salesman named Randy. He told her that before sh kia soul in that funky green color like on the commercial. wound up at Deland Kia. Was assisted my a salesman named Randy. He told her that before she could test drive a car they had to find out what she was qualified to finance. since she had never bought a new car she thought you were supposed to test drive first but was anxious to get a new car so she went with his lead. randy called me with a sale price and payment plan and i told him that we wanted to stay in a certain payment range as we are saving to buy a house and allotted ourselves a certain amount to spend. i gave him the highest payment that we would be willing to pay and he told him that if he could not make it work that we would have to look else where. Randy couldn't make that price work and kept telling my wife that this price he had was only good for today and if she wanted the car she would have to move on it. So she caved and signed the papers for the car. He assured her that it had all of the options that she was looking for and that justified the payment being $150.00 more per month than we were willing to go. He never asked her if we had our own financing just told her this is all we can do. She went to get a drink of water and when she returned to his office he (randy) was on the phone with our insurance company adding this new vehicle to our policy. He told the insurance company that he was me and could make any and all changes needed. My wife was upset and took the phone from him and finished the arrangements with them for this new car. She was upset and when she asked him why he did that he said he was only trying to help. So after being at the dealership for 5 hours, she was worn out but excited about the new car. She asked him if she could test drive the car now and he said "yes you can you own it". Randy followed her home so he could obtain my signature on the papers. As he entered our home he asked my wife how mad i was going to be and if i was going to "punch him in the mouth". Although the payment was higher than we agreed on i wanted to have my wife to have the car she wanted. I signed the papers and he left, telling me on his way out the door that we would have papers on Monday. It was late and she was tired so we decided to relax and look at the car the next morning. We went out the next morning and the battery was dead. Gave the car a jump start and continued looking at the car. The more we looked the more we realized that the car we wanted and went there to buy was NOT the car sitting in our garage.!!!!!!! We immediately contacted Randy and he told us that this was the vehicle that we could afford, that we signed for and that we were stuck with it !!!!!! That was a week ago. In the middle of the week i called and went out to the dealership to meet Randy to get copies of our paperwork. I told him what time i would be there and he assured me that he would be there to go over things with me. I told him that we didn't want this car and that we wanted something to be done about this to make it right. When i arrived at the dealership i was informed that Randy was already gone for the day and that he left nothing for me. I asked for the general managers contact information and was then approached by 2 other salesman who would not give me a business card but reassured me that i was in fact stuck with this car. The next day i contacted the dealership to speak with the general manager (dan obrien) and seek a resolution to our situation. I left message and missed his phone call so i called 4 more times and left message with a brief synopsis of my situation but never received a return phone call. So just yesterday we took the car back to the dealership as we don't want THIS car and dont want to run the miles up on it. A very unfriendly gentleman came out and informed us that if we left the vehicle here they would have it towed back to our house at our expense as it was our car and we were stuck with it. Finally after 2 or 3 different sales people came out to talk to us.......again none giving us a business card a gentleman introducing himself as the general sales manager (with no business card) came out and told us that under no circumstances was returning the car an option. I had told the bank in a phone interview that we didn't want the car and were going to return it. this man told me that he would find a bank to push this loan thru without our approval and if necessary he would get that bank 10 other loans just to get them to push ours thru !!!!!!! This is deception and fraud at it's best. We still have no resolution OR our paperwork at this point !!!!! The only reason i gave all 1's on the survey is because there was no option for zeroes !!!!!! WORST EXPERIENCE EVER !!!!!!! RUN FROM DELAND KIA !!!!!! More
