Underhanded and deceptive practices. Went in a couple months ago interested in trading our Pontiac Torrent for a new Equinox. We test drove the Equinox and returned to dealership and waited for the appraisal of our car. When I saw what they were offering me for my car I told the salesman no and that it was way too low and for him to give me my keys and I would leave the dealership. The salesman got up and returned with whom I figured was the sales manager(a big guy) who proceeded to ask me what was the problem and I asked for my keys with that he acted as if he was holding my keys for ransom and I ask for my keys again which he then complied with my request and my wife and I proceeded to leave the showroom floor with the sales manager and sales person following behind us to our car at which the sales manager then offered me twice as much for my car at which time I told him that if Deacon Jones was alive he would fire the entire crew around there. I have received calls from them since but have no desire to deal with them as they low balled me and are dishonest. More
*Beware* Keep your keys My tires were not rotated as stated on my 2016 silverado. The reason I know is because i have them set up for the level i have on an my back passenger is the only tire with regular air in the tire. If it wasnt needed they could have atleast said that. While getting my vehicle serviced I walked the lot looking for maybe a potential vehicle for my wife. They had some loaner traverse the had on sale i like one said i would bring my wife back with my 07 tahoe i would maybe trade in. My wife saw the car she liked it they took my tahoe for appraisal. After continusly asking for a price seeing it was on sale i was continusly told to wait will they had my keys. They continued to try to make me fill out ally finicial paperwork but i could already afford msrp i wanted to know sale price since it was a loaner and on sale (what i was told by salesman cody and a manager). I had my wife take her keys an start the car with hers thats when they sent another salesman out. I let them know what i was asking was simple and they could send it in a email seeing i filed in the guess worksheet they asked me too. They did not want me to get my keys. I thought about it and they were the same way when i got my truck except at that time i wasnt as wise of a consumer. These guys make the car buying process very hostile and uneasy. I just feel bad for the people they have taken advantage of trying to sale you on a car payment and not vehicle actual price. I will be changing my servicing depart and still shop chevy (in my heart) but if i was on the fence this dealership would have completly turned me away.By the way never got anything back about the 2017 traverse i looked at. False Advertisment!!!!! Deacon Jones has a $5000 price match guarantee, that if you bring them a written offer from another dealer with the same vehicle and trim levels and Deacon Jones has a $5000 price match guarantee, that if you bring them a written offer from another dealer with the same vehicle and trim levels and options that they will match it or beat it. So I found one and I brought them a better offer from another dealer than what they were offering. The only difference was the other truck had more expensive mirrors on it than the one deacon jones had at there dealership. Same color, same truck, same trim level. So I asked the sales manager can they match or beat it and he said no its not the same truck because it has the extra mirrors on it. I said the mirrors are just and option, its the same truck with same trim level and color. He said he could not match it so I asked him about the $5000 they are supposed to give you if they cant match or beat the price. He said he couldn't do it so I said that you shouldn't advertise it if you can honor it. Then he told me that we have the right to refuse business to anyone. I said I bet you do when you have to pay out of your pocket. DONT TRUST THESE PEOPLE AT DEACON JONES DEALERSHIP IN SMITHFIELD. THEY ARE LIARS!!!!!!!! More

I have a brand new 2015 Chevy Tahoe and it has been broken since they tried to put tow hooks on the truck. They weaseled me out of $1000 and so much more. No faith in the m and horrible customer service. RIP Deacon Jone because they are running your business in the ground. More

GREAT Experience and customer service! We had been searching for a few weeks and dealing with different dealerships to try and find the exact deal we were looking for. I called Deacon Jones and spoke with Tony who within minutes located the exact car we were looking for and had it on his lot within 24hrs. The next day we were in our new car and settled on price point that we were extremely comfortable with! Worst Ever Worst experience I have ever had with any company. The dealership called me 3 times during the week to setup and confirm a Saturday appointment. I confirmed via text with Melinda the day before the appointment as well. I drive over an hour at 9am Saturday morning. When I walk in the office I tell the gentleman I was there to test drive the Black 2010 Tahoe. He responds that he sold it the previous day. After telling him that it would have been nice to have been notified before my 2 hour round trip. He then said well what can i do I sold it at 7pm last night, I then mentioned the numerous calls confirming the appointment and stated that canceling it should have been dealt with the same intensity. He then said well Melinda was suppose to call everyone; which this statement did not make any sense if he sold it at 7pm (the time his lot closes on Friday nights) and I was there at opening. He then began to just blame Melinda. He then asked if I wanted to see another Tahoe, which was the same price and had 68,000 more mile on it. I declined and left. He never apologized he just past blame. I then text Melinda with no response of course. I finally was contacted by the sales manager at their main lot after responding to an automated email, the first person to apologize and acknowledge the issues. The car was finally removed a week after they supposedly sold it, I question whether they ever had it to start with, it was $3K off the KBB value and they have two others on the same lot with 68k plus miles for the same price. I believe they just had it to get people on the lot....... 2 Hours of driving wasted. More
I'm hoping it was just a bad day in GM service Dropped my truck off Friday night to be serviced Saturday - oil change, tire rotation & general "look over" before heading out o f state on business. Dropped my truck off Friday night to be serviced Saturday - oil change, tire rotation & general "look over" before heading out o f state on business. When I picked my truck up Saturday, the service advisor told me everything looked good, but when I started the truck, the Service Traction Control and Service Stabilitrac warnings were on. When I told the service advisor, he said "All we did was change the oil and rotate the tires, it wasn't anything we did." He didn't offer to check if there was something knocked loose or if it was even safe to drive! I asked if they could look at it, and he said "If you leave it, we might be able to look at it tonight." Leaving it was not an option as I was leaving the state the next day, so I asked "Will it be okay?" and he said "It should be." He offered nothing additional, just that it "should be" okay... LOUSY customer service! Now, I'm in Georgia and my truck is decidedly NOT right. the traction control is definitely out of whack - if I am not very careful accelerating, the tires spin, if I am in a turn, the truck will slide out to the side! I am not very pleased, to say the least. I left a voicemail with the service manager, but it's Memorial Day weekend, so I don't expect to hear from anyone until Tuesday, at least, if at all. If they do contact me, I'll update to reflect whatever takes place, but for now, their service department is not recommended. ***BTW: The tires have 4 different air pressures. I'm pretty sure that's not right! More
