I've owned 10 Toyota's over the years from a Corolla S to 2 Land Cruisers. This will be my last. For several reasons. First being Toyota and/or dealer customer service simply is not what it used to be. Our current Toyota Highlandet is barely out of warrantee. In tte past we have nevet had an issue having legitimate isdues repaird out of warrantee. The Re have been few issues to deal with but of the ones we had they were all repaird. We currently have 3 issues. The 1st is a well known Toyota issue there are thousands of people complakmh about it. When we first start thr vehicle and turn the A/C or heat on it blows foul smelling air for a few minutes. The second. we have played down and raised the 3rd row sears twice in all the time we have owned thus vehicle. Thd second time doing it the cheap plastic latch broke. The 3rd is the rear hatch door lift mechanism is faulty. Most of the time we have try to raise the door 3 or 3 times to get it to raise. All 3 of the see issued are completely unacceptable. The dealer would not even address any of the 3. We simply got it's out of warrantee. Absolutely zero good will Customer service. Now let's talk about the "services they tried to sell us. We were told the windshield wiper blades were bad. I purchased and installed Toyita OEM blades 2 weeks prior. I was told the tires need to be replaced. I brought the vehicle to 3 different tire shops all said the tires are fine for quite a few more miles. Then we got the great deal buy 3 get the 4th for free. Too funny. The cost is 20% higher for 3 than all 4 at tire shops. And yes they include alignment, 1 year damage warrantee and lifetime rotations. I was told the hybrid battery filters were dirty and HAD to be replaced at a cost or $125. I bought thr filters for $18. It took 3 minutes to change them. $107 labor for 3 minutes? Not to mention the old filters where like brand new. Toyota and especially Daytona Toyota will never see my business again. More
