Car Dealership Caused Damage to My Vehicle On Wednesday, 2/21/18, I took our 2010 Cadillac SRX to the Davis Gainesville Cadillac dealership to have the oil changed and tires rotated. The servi On Wednesday, 2/21/18, I took our 2010 Cadillac SRX to the Davis Gainesville Cadillac dealership to have the oil changed and tires rotated. The service department at the dealership also recommended that the front and rear brakes and rotors be replaced. I agreed and authorized this work. Jeff, the service agent, booked another service appointment for me at 1300 on Friday, 2/23. I arrived at the dealership at 1250 on 2/23 and was greeted by Jeff. He informed me that only 3 of the 4 necessary parts had arrived the previous day and they could not finish the work without all 4 parts. I was disappointed that I was not contacted before traveling to the dealership. A courtesy call would have been appreciated. The work went ahead as scheduled and the missing part was located. Jeff later informed me that they noticed that the left front tire bearing needed to be replaced when they took the car for a test drive for the brakes. I agreed and authorized the work. About an hour later Jeff mentioned to me that they wear having difficulty getting the left front rotor from leasing from the rest of the vehicle to complete the repair. He mentioned they had sprayed the area the area with a chemical to expedite the process. About 30-45 minutes later Jeff (around 5:45 pm) informed me that they believe the left axle was broken when an air hammer was used to dislodge the front rotor. The mechanic explained how and why the damage to the vehicle occurred. Jeff informed me that I was liable for the cost of repairing the vehicle. I asked to speak to the service manager, Charlie. Charlie reiterated how the actions of the mechanic (using an air hammer to dislodge the front rotor) broke the axel. He informed me that although his mechanic caused the damage that I was responsible for the damages because it was my vehicle. Charlie and I have a discussion about the dealership should take accountability and responsibility for the damage they caused to my vehicle and he did not change his position. He further told me that if I was interested in purchasing a new vehicle, the dealership would likely forgive the cost of the axel repair. In my opinion, the Davis Gainesville Cadillac damaged my vehicle through gross negligence (I believe they used extra force to dislodge the part to complete the work before the shop closed at 6 pm) and unauthorized mechanism (air hammer). The dealership should take responsibility for the damage to my vehicle they caused and be financially accountable for the repairs. More
Everytime its a problem - wont service escalade Nothing but bad news. 1st time under certified warranty they couldn't fix a sunroof leak, took it to L&S and they helped. THey did warranty work then Nothing but bad news. 1st time under certified warranty they couldn't fix a sunroof leak, took it to L&S and they helped. THey did warranty work then, but missed the leaky shocks, had ot replace out of warranty for more than 1k, and they refused to acknowledge their oops. Wouldn't replace a simple part that needed replacing without wanting to charge me a diagnostic to tell me what I already knew was broken. Now wont service the Cadillac, since it was a dealer package from another dealer. So you pay extra for a dealer package on and escalade only to find out that your out of luck with Cadillac Service. Lessons learned don't deal with DAvis Cadillac Service, and spend your 110,000 with some other manufacturer if you want to go with a dealer package. More

While there, I thought I would save some time and have them do an oil change on my GMC Denali 1500. Should have checked the price first. I called around to check pricing for oil change, tires... Gainesville GMC $39.95 Chevy Daytona $39.95 Chevy Lake City $55 Chevy Ocala $69.18 Davis Gainesville Chevrolet $94.90 Ouch!!! Clearly I should have asked the price before just ASSUMING they would be competitive with the other dealers. That is my fault. I spoke to Charlie the Service Manager. His comment, "Oh well". In closing on MY opinion. Bodyshop, YES! Service Department, NO! More
Service manager out for your money I had a great experience at first, then I got my key back. I had gone in for a coolant leak, and was fixed accordingly. My gear stick often sticks b I had a great experience at first, then I got my key back. I had gone in for a coolant leak, and was fixed accordingly. My gear stick often sticks briefly when put in park (a common problem in sonics), and it requires a few seconds before pulling the key out. Seeing as these are certified mechanics, I figured they have seen this problem many times, and would have the common sense not to forcibly yank the key out of ignition when the gear sticks. This was not the case. I received my key broken in half, and could not close. Josh tried to tell me the key was already damaged, and I would have to pay for the repair. Charlie, the service manager, then came out and told me it was MY fault the key broke because they did not know how to handle sticky gear, and there was nothing that could be done because they were innocent, and "simply made it worse." He would not let me speak, and was disrespectful and condescending. If he is that desperate to swindle $200 from a college student that has already spent $1000 in repair, then I see no reason to continue business here. More

Scheduled an appointment for service that Chevrolet says would only take 30 minutes and it took 1 hour and 25 minutes. Attempted to make an appointment a week prior and was told that since I didn't purchase the vehicle there that they weren't sure if they would be able to do the android auto update. They told me that they would find out and call me right back. After a little bit I hadn't received a call and so I called them back and they told me they still hadn't found out, but they would call me back and that it might be awhile. I had to call Chevrolet Infotainment Customer Support Group who informed me that there was absolutely without a doubt no restrictions on getting the service performed based on purchasing location. The lady I spoke with called your service department and relayed what she had told me. Many hours later, about 5 or 6 they called me to set up an appointment and gave me some run around that they had to verify they could perform the service. I feel that my time has been absolutely wasted dealing with your dealership and that my value as a customer is non existent. More
Bad sales and service department I had a 2014 Silverado that had pretty much everything go wrong with it, computer, brakes, steering, stabil trak, and so on. Eventually the Truck was I had a 2014 Silverado that had pretty much everything go wrong with it, computer, brakes, steering, stabil trak, and so on. Eventually the Truck was out of warranty so I decided to trade it in on a new truck. Dealership was unable to find a new one and was unable to fix my existing one. I paid for the last repair and traded the truck in at another dealership. I purchased a 125000 mile extended warranty on the new one and contacted Davis about the bill for the repair that didn't work. I told a sales manager if they ate the charge for the so called repair, I would bring future work to them. He was rude and did not even consider the offer. By the way GM is of no help whatsoever either. I guess I'll take my service work a hundred miles away. More
