2 weeks ago, I leased a brand new F150 from Villa Ford. I’ve been a loyal customer - as this is my 7th vehicle purchase with this dealership since 2016. I even have given 5-star reviews with a few of my past purchases. Please note I’m providing details of my personal experience, and for this honest review Villa Ford receives 2 stars this time around. Well, I hate to say that this will be my last transaction with Villa Ford. Although I’m rather happy with the new truck, my intention during this visit was to buy out my other lease (a 2020 Explorer ST). Ultimately, I decided to trade in for another lease because my payments were lower and I also had a lot of equity in my previous vehicle due to the very low miles. Plus, the Explorer has been problematic since it was in its 1st model year and had/has been through too many recalls. The problems I have with the dealership are that they cheated/misled me with my most recent deal, as well as never receiving any follow-up post sale. Regarding the deal, I qualified for a $2500 trade-in assist rebate from Ford. Honestly, I’m unsure if they even applied it in the sales agreement. There was a separate “Rebates Form” that I signed, but the page was not even filled out. Besides the $2500 rebate, apparently I also received a “complimentary” pre-purchased maintenance plan from Ford for $2250. When I brought this up with the finance guy, he said that it’s complimentary (keep in mind it’s part of that blank rebates form I signed). Therefore, someone (my salesperson or the finance guy) has not been upfront about everything. To be honest, I signed all the paperwork, so in the end it’s on me because they got it in writing. Plus, I now live far from the dealership (over a 30 min drive w/no traffic) - so I preferred not to come back another day. However, I hope that it’s my actual signatures on those documents because on my previous lease with the Explorer, it had both mine and my spouse’s on the agreement, and my salesperson encouraged me to attempt to forge her signature. Ultimately, I was told I just needed to sign for myself since the leasing party were: (1) Me or my wife, and (2) Villa Ford. But with that rebates form, it makes me wonder what other rebates they might be claiming on my behalf - or if they might forge my signature on other documents as well. As for my other issue with the post-sale follow up, I feel I’ve been ghosted by my salesperson. Jim sold me my last vehicle (a 2020 F150) back in 09/2020, but my regular sales guy (the one who sold me 5 other Fords) was not available during this visit. And during delivery, I mentioned to Jim regarding the dents and scratches this brand new truck had - and he said he’ll take care of it. Well I’ve already taken care of them out of my pocket (spent $400 correcting these damages). The intent of this review is to bring awareness to potential customers thinking if Villa Ford is good dealership or not. Especially considering we’re transitioning to a different economy when compared to 3 years ago, I’m afraid this dealership has turned shady and will attempt to take full advantage of their unsuspecting customers. It could just be my sales guy (Jim) or my finance guy (Christian), but my advice to potential buyers in the market is to really do their research. Honestly, my suggestion is to seriously explore other dealerships and avoid VF if you can. I’d even recommend Fairway Ford in Placentia as a better dealership if you’re looking for a more than fair deal (especially considering today’s economy). Check out their website, there are dealer discounts on top of applicable rebates. Usually, you can tell a more honest dealership when they actually have low inventory (when compared to others). Additionally, if you’re looking to trade your vehicle to this dealership, they seem to be buying at wholesale (or slightly below wholesale) prices; CarMax offered me $4000 more - but it’s a hassle for me to come back another day. The service technicians explain any problems found and if there are no problems, I don't feel like I'm being "sold" extra things. If I want an oil change, it's done and that's it. there are no problems, I don't feel like I'm being "sold" extra things. If I want an oil change, it's done and that's it. More
