We recently purchased a high-end SUV from David Wilson’s Toyota. While the vehicle itself is great, the dealership’s handling of the transaction — particularly after we said “yes” — was deeply disappointing Toyota. While the vehicle itself is great, the dealership’s handling of the transaction — particularly after we said “yes” — was deeply disappointing and unprofessional. At first, the salesperson misrepresented vehicle availability, insisting the one on the lot was the only option, despite previously saying they could trade with other dealers. Once we moved forward, everything became rushed and sloppy. I was told I could come in quickly to sign paperwork, and made it clear I had limited time. Despite assurances, I ended up waiting nearly two hours for the finance office. The finance manager barely acknowledged me, made no effort to explain documents, and didn’t seem to understand or document key registration and titling details we had already discussed. I was then told that picking up the vehicle would be a “5-minute key exchange.” Instead, I sat for nearly two more hours while they searched for paperwork, claimed they hadn’t received the wire transfer (which they had), and only eventually acknowledged the funds were there after I pressed the issue. Even then, the SUV was handed over with an empty gas tank. I had to give it back and wait again while they fueled it. Worse still, the paperwork had been filled out incorrectly. Critical forms were unsigned or missing, and documents were sent to the wrong address — one I had specifically said not to use. These documents, which included personal information, ended up found on the side of the road. The dealership never followed up with me about the paperwork issues. I had to be the one to track everything down, correct the errors, get forms notarized, and make multiple trips to government offices just to try to get things resolved. The salesperson never followed up, even after saying he would. The dealership never returned my calls, even after promising someone would be in touch. I was left completely on my own to fix their mistakes. After all of that, I finally received a call from the dealership — not to apologize or help, but to demand to know why the paperwork wasn’t finished. The person on the phone was rude, defensive, and took no responsibility for the delays they caused. In short: Once the sale was made, this dealership made it abundantly clear they had no interest in customer service or accountability. From broken promises and delays to paperwork errors and poor communication, the experience was unacceptable — especially at this price point. If you're considering buying a vehicle here, know this: you might get the car you want, but once they have your money, you're on your own. More
