Apparently I wasn't driving my truck hard enough. I received an emissions check (diesel engine) to bring it into service. This write up is in reference to service conducted on my 2022 GMC Yukon regarding a leak into the cab of the vehicle that was discovered and reported in May-June of 2024. I did leave a negative review during the first instance and was contacted. After about two months in the shop, the final problem was identified as a leaking grommet in the sunroof. I am skeptical that it is fully resolved, as we experienced heavy rains while the issue was being diagnosed, but now it hasn’t rained for over two weeks. When the initial problem was discovered, the carpet, primarily on the driver's side, was wet, mold had started to form under the floor mat, and there was a distinct odor. This was remedied by replacing the carpet. However, when I went to pick up the vehicle, I found that the floor was wet again, and the vehicle remained with the dealer for another three weeks. When the final problem was reported as fixed, I requested that the carpets be detailed at a minimum, which the service representative agreed to. In the customer receipt, it was stated that "to the best of their abilities it was cleaned," which, in my opinion, loosely translates to it was not thoroughly cleaned. Given the frustration this has caused, I reluctantly accepted the vehicle back. It is important to note that the vehicle has 36,000 miles and I maintain my vehicles in excellent condition. Before these issues, I would describe the vehicle as pristine and believe it still had that new car scent. Now that we have the vehicle back, it is evident that this is not the case, and in my opinion, the vehicle has not been restored to its prior condition. There is still a noticeable odor in the vehicle, and I am skeptical that the new carpet was not ruined again and that a professional detail was not performed. Additionally, my own cleaning supplies that were in the vehicle were on the passenger seat when I picked it up, indicating they were used. I also discovered some leftover shop supplies under the hood, and the windshield wiper washer hoses were not connected. These lapses in attention to detail further lead me to believe that subpar maintenance was performed. I have been bringing my vehicles to this dealer for service for the past 11 years and have never had a concern like this. It is apparent there has been a change in leadership and it has lead to negative consequences. More
