The Honda crew, customer service, mechanics and others are all fantastic. They bend over backwards every time and give me all the information and assistance I could ever need. I bought my Nissan from another Nissan dealer in Augusta, ME, and brought it there for service. They could not figure out the problem, nor were they very helpful in attempting to solve the problem, after I ME, and brought it there for service. They could not figure out the problem, nor were they very helpful in attempting to solve the problem, after I had taken a day off from work and traveled more than four hours one way for this service on two different occasions. I then went to Darlings who not only resolved the problem, but convinced Nissan to cover the costs. Geoff Adams, Drew Simpson and Betty Jo could not have been more professional, friendly and knowledgable. Actually, while waiting for a very short time while Drew was on the phone, the person at the Honda station and also the person at the Volvo station offered to help me. I was not used to that kind of service from the Nissan dealer in Augusta. Even though I absolutely love my Nissan, I was ready to trade it in locally because of the problem I had and the Nissan dealer in Augusta not being able to fix it. After my experience with Darlings, and even though I live three hours away, all of my future car purchases will be at Darlings. I have talked to many people since this incident and have not been able to find one unhappy customer of Darlings. Everyone has expressed receiving the same courteous sales and service experience that I did. Thanks Darlings! More
I found Many Anne as an aggressive sales person who is aggressive in pleasing her customer and securing a deal as opposed to being aggressive in a bullying way. Why I wanted a new car, What drove my passion, Where I wanted to be in the numbers game, When I wanted the deal to happen, and How it would come together. She impressed me over all the other dealers I was working with at the same time to achieve that goal. She beat out six other people in getting my attention and what I wanted. I used to have a sales person a long time ago when all I bought were Chevy's and he was the one that impressed me. Now that I have grown up and Honda's are all I buy, I will go the extra miles and drive to Darling's in Bangor to make my next deal. I live three and a half hours away from the dealership. More
just bought a new honda odyssey,i should start by saying that years ago this very dealership gave me one of the worst experiences i had ever had.this inspite of the fact i had bought 3 cars from the ellswor that years ago this very dealership gave me one of the worst experiences i had ever had.this inspite of the fact i had bought 3 cars from the ellsworth gmc and 1 from the bangor ford dealership. what a difference jeff and mary anne bothassured me that things had changed and i should give them a chance.so glad we did!they were friendy...even dog friendly (bonus!)the transaction went smooth,i was given value for my trade-in,a honda ridgeline...something i can not say about the people i bought it from!and we love the vehicle.the fact they are the closest dealer(we live 86 miles away)is also a bonus,since i am hoping to service it there.so now i guess it's time for the service dept. to step up so i can finish my rating later!thank you to all the people who we dealt with direct..and those who came over to pet the pups ,or bring them a treat.hopefully i will never have to go to another dealership again. I just bought a 2008 Toyota Rav4 from Mary Ann at Darling's. I feel awful that in my first long winded review from when my girlfriend and I got our 2009 Nissan Cube, I neglected to mention how helpf Darling's. I feel awful that in my first long winded review from when my girlfriend and I got our 2009 Nissan Cube, I neglected to mention how helpful Melissa and Ryan were in our purchase. They were instrumental in accomplishing what my girlfriend and I thought was an impossible task, but they did it for us!!! More recently I got a vehicle that I have been lusting after since the remodel in 2006, the new Rav4. But I knew it was only a pipe dream until I saw a barely used trade-in on the Darling's website with a very reasonable price, another reasonable price is no surprise at Darling's. Even then, I didn't think it possible. So, I called Mary Ann, this only months after purchasing our other vehicle. I had been keeping my eyes on the market, but never thought it was possible. She mentioned the vehicle and was so confident that I went down and figured I would try. I work full time, and thus, had very little to spend at the dealership, but Mary Ann, Melissa, and Ryan did all the leg work. With my girlfriend's car being only in my name, I never thought I would get approved with this change to my debt/income ratio. Three hours later, Mary Ann called me and informed me that she had some bad news :'( She strung me along a little bit, telling me that she and Ryan had tried all sorts of banks and credit unions. Then she informed me that the bad news was that I would have to wait a full 2 more hours for MY NEW CAR to be detailed and washed before I could go pick it up and fill out the financial paperwork!!!!! Once again, the experience was soooooo easy and FUN!!! I loved the whole thing!! I enjoyed taking out a huge loan hahahaha! If I was Donald Trump I would buy a car from Mary Ann and the team every couple of months just for the awesome fun I have every time I'm there! Not only did they reduce the price of the car even more than it was before, but they got my girlfriend on the loan as well!! We did not do this with her car, because her credit is atrocious. But now, her credit will improve, the payments are less than I thought they would be, and my insurance actually went DOWN!!! Not only id I get what I badly wanted, but my life improved in many facets. I couldn't believe it!! It's cheesy, but I hadn't been so excited since my mother told me she was taking me to Disney World when I was 10!!! And the trick she played on me was hilarious! It is really like having a friend help you find a car, and that's what I usually help people do, but to get a relief from that was amazing. I felt totally at ease letting the team at Darling's handle the whole thing! I cannot say enough good things about the people there. They are like friends. If you are going to buy a car in Maine and you read this review CALL DARLING'S FIRST!!! Talk to them for 2 minutes and you will want to go with them. They put your tensions and reservations to rest with kindness, respect, and a helpful spirit. I have nothing tied up in this, I am genuinely so happy to say these things about Mary Ann and her crew! Mary Ann is wonderful, kind, and helpful beyond belief. Ryan is a financial whiz! And Melissa is just as knowledgeable and forthright as everyone else I have encountered there and she always has a friendly smile, then again that's everyone too! Just buy from Darling's you won't regret it. This is the 12th car I have owned in my short life. Yes, I have a bit of an obsession, in fact to get this car I had to sign a contract with my girlfriend to agree that this is the last car for 7 years haha. I have bought new, used, private sale, wholesale, and helped friends and family do the same over the years. Never once have I had even close to such a positive and enthralling experience as I did here. Just buy from them, they will do all the work for you, not make you work for it. They make it effortless, you get what you want not the other way around, they don't try to sell you the car, they listen to what you want and go out of their way to get it for you! What I am trying to convey here is, it is the opposite of what most of us have gone through at dealerships. The prices are unbeatable, the people are fantastic, and the experience is beyond comparison. If you want a relaxing, pressure free sale, go to Darling's. It's like ordering out at a fine restaurant, but the finished product is your custom order car, not a meal hahaha. So, call Mary Ann and tell her what you're looking for and before you know it, you'll have it all, you'll think it's too good to be true I promise you! Well I have rambled quite long enough and I am very tired and I work in the morning. I am including my first review for those who may not be convinced just yet, as I was fully rested and thus sharper mentally with the last one. Shop with Mary Ann and enjoy! Where others had been hard nosed and failed to help us and made the process seem like a chore the team at Darling's really made it seem, for lack of a better word, fun! They made it seem like a breeze and worked with us until we got exactly what we wanted for a price that was thousands less than what we had thought we would spend. Once again, if you are going to buy a car, call Mary Ann, I cannot say enough good things about her and her sales experience! I even called to thank her personally just 2 days ago because we love the car soooooo much. I hope she gets to see this review. When you buy a car at Darling's I know this sounds cliche and really hokey, but they make you feel like a friend, not a sale, and that's the first time I have encountered that in my life, no pressure at all. This is the worst dealer ever.They destroyed my dash and would not fix it .They could not even find a electrical issue. My experience with Darling's was so great. The car I was interested in was two and a half hours away. Maryann met me half way. I was treated very well. The deal was great. They even let me take the car home once we agreed to a price. This saved another trip. There was a misunderstanding in the transaction. The deal could have gone south, but "no" the dealer honored the sale. I would not hesitate to drive to Bangor to buy another car from Maryann/Darling's. Rick Ellis in the service department has been taking care of my Hondas for twenty-four years. The knowledgable sales staff is another reason for choosing Darling's Honda Nissan. Mary-Anne McDermott leased me my 2010 Civic Coupe today and I am very pleased with the way she "made it happen" for me. She is not only an incredible sales person but also someone who cares about her customers. Mary-Anne most importantly listened to me and understood what I needed for a vehicle. I am again very pleased with the service I received from Darling's. I highly recommend Darling's Honda Nissan. More
