My wife and I (same sex couple) went to look for a used vehicle for me. We walked around the lot looking for about 15 minutes. A hetero couple came and was addressed by a salesperson within 3 minutes; we c vehicle for me. We walked around the lot looking for about 15 minutes. A hetero couple came and was addressed by a salesperson within 3 minutes; we continued to wait for another 15 minutes and saw yet another couple approached by a salesperson. We went to a different Darlings location and got exactly the same thing and never addressed by anyone. They are clearly homophobic (at multiple locations). I have told all of my friends about these interactions and will NEVER do business at any Darlings location. More

I had the transmission replace The master mechanic took the day and went through the vehicle. At the end he said all signs point to the transmission. I had the transmission replaced, the symptoms eased up for 2 days and since then have been back and never eased up. I have wound up spending over $15k on unnecessary repairs to this vehicle on Darlings repetitive incorrect diagnosis. It is clear they have no idea what's wrong with it. It is still vibrating and pulsing to this day with no hope of dealing with it. So disappointing to have such a fine vehicle as this SQ5 and have the brand's service department unable to do anything but guess as to what's wrong with it. At this point I look forward to whatever is going wrong with it to fully break and hopefully it doesn't cause me to have an accident hurting myself or others....or worse. More

They refuse to fix because EVERYTHING is fine and Anything wrong is "my fault" check your vehicles before you sell them. You know the transmission fluid is black and no one can check it but a dealership. Hmmm isn't that convenient I was sold a car with a bad transmission and it's now going out and darlings is refusing to acknowledge it or me. SAVE YOUR MONEY. You wont have the headache of hiring attorneys and what not to fight darlings if you just don't do business with them. More

My car filled with water due to blocked drains in the sunroof, and Darling's Audi had my car sitting on their lot for a staggering three weeks without addressing the water issue. During this time, I had to rent a car while waiting for them to take action. They eventually ordered a module for the car to start, but when we picked it up to transfer it to another repair shop, the trunk was still filled with water, wires exposed, making it dangerously unfit to drive. After a nerve-wracking 7-hour drive, constantly worrying it might break down on the highway, we finally dropped it off at Audi of Southampton. They informed us that the repair was relatively simple, but we had to spend a small fortune cleaning out the water and mold that had accumulated during those weeks it sat at Darling's Audi. Our contact person throughout this ordeal was Jackie. It was truly a disaster! More
Staff was so nice and approachable. It was my first time but they made me feel welcomed. Service was also fast. Will definitely recommend to others. It was my first time but they made me feel welcomed. Service was also fast. Will definitely recommend to others. More
I recently had the unfortunate experience of purchasing a used car from Darlings used car dealership in Bangor Maine. Petter Bradshaw was my sales person. I must say, it has been an absolute nightmare deal a used car from Darlings used car dealership in Bangor Maine. Petter Bradshaw was my sales person. I must say, it has been an absolute nightmare dealing with this dealership, and management. From the beginning, I noticed several issues with the vehicle that I brought to their attention. However, despite my multiple attempts to get them to address these issues, they have consistently refused to listen or take any meaningful action. It is evident that they simply do not care about customer satisfaction or the quality of the vehicles they sell. I have only had the vehicle for six months, and it has been nothing but a headache. The problems I have encountered range from mechanical issues to cosmetic damages, all of which should have been addressed prior to selling the car. It is clear that Darlings Used Cars Bangor only cares about making a quick sale and does not stand behind the vehicles they sell. The most frustrating aspect of my experience with this dealership is their complete refusal to fix any of the issues I have brought to their attention. They have offered no solutions or assistance, leaving me to deal with the consequences of their negligence. The lack of accountability and the dismissive attitude they have displayed towards my concerns is incredibly disappointing. I would strongly advise anyone considering purchasing a used car to steer clear Darlings Used Car Bangor Dealership. Their lack of professionalism, unwillingness to address issues, and disregard for customer satisfaction make them an unreliable and untrustworthy dealership. Save yourself the headache and find a dealership that values their customers and takes responsibility for the vehicles they sell. More
I have a 2018 Audi SQ5 that has a strange pulsing vibration while driving straight that gets worse when turning right. I brought it in thinking this is the Audi motherland, they know these cars, I sh vibration while driving straight that gets worse when turning right. I brought it in thinking this is the Audi motherland, they know these cars, I should be able to get a correct diagnosis and move forward with a repair. The first time I went there they said it was rear left wheel bearing. That seemed to fit, so I went elsewhere and had it replaced. There was no effect on the symptoms at all. I brought it back, they said front right wheel bearing. I again had it replaced to no avail. I brought i back again and this time the service said he didn't know what to tell me. I asked what I needed to do moving forward. He replied that we could just replace moving parts until we got to the transmission. How is that a solution to my problem? Throw thousands of dollars of parts and labor at my vehicle because of the service depts' inability to diagnose my vehicle? I was not psyched with that answer at all. As a manager/owner I know I would like to know about this kind of situation so I emailed the owner and the general manager. That got things moving along. I had several conversations with an assistant manager who seemed very knowledgeable. I was worried about this problem getting worse and eventually becoming dangerous. I travel a lot on the interstate, the last thing I need is something in the drivetrain going wrong at 75+ MPH. He had me bring the vehicle in and drop it off for the day. I did, and when I returned to get it I was told I needed to replace my rear left wheel bearing, replace my tires, and replace my rear left axel. I have done all that, costing thousands again. The vibration is still there and getting worse. It's gotten so bad that when I went in today for a recall I asked them that it be looked at to see if there might be a smoking gun this time. I get to my appointment and the guy checking me in said he wasn't up to speed on the vibration issue. There was some sort of recall or bulletin or whatever on the rear axel (they are weak and have a tendency to bend or twist) that the assistant manager guy told me about back when I got the only real service after emailing the owner and general manager and this guy checking me in starts arguing with me? I said forget the vibration issue and just do the recall. I decided right there and then that I will NEVER go to Darlings service dept for ANYTHING that I can go to someone else for. I would have given Darlings 1 star but there was a time not too long ago that these guys were the gold standard, not rock bottom like they are now. I had a 2007 A4 that had fuel pressure issues and had been around with no one able to find a diagnosis. I called Darling Audi feeling pretty defeated and the service person, Kim Cotta, said to me "Robert, don't you worry about a thing, I have a guy that can find ghosts" Imagine that. reassuring and confident. Thats a far frigging cry from "We'll just replace parts until we get to the transmission. Im done trying to work with these guys. If I have to drive to Portland to get proper work done on my car then so be it. Also worth note, the work done today was supposed to take 1 hour and 15 minutes. It took almost 2hours. Are these guys overwhelmed? Understaffed? What's the deal, they used to be amazing? At any rate I would not recommend these guys to anyone right now. I WILL say my sister bought a truck from them and their sales dept is great. I will consider them when I upgrade from the SQ5 but service? Not until some changes are made. Update - Kim Cotta called me and we chatted for about 20 minutes, she is still incredible and employed by Darlings in a different position. We went over everything thats been done, the way things were handled, she actually looked at all the notes and followed up with the master tech who found the ghost in my A4 before she called me, she and he really want to get this resolved. THIS is what service is all about. Im inclined to give them one more shot. So much respect for her. More
I struck a curb striking the passenger side front wheel secondary to maneuvering to avoid a possible collision with another vehicle. My collision was akin to a formidable ‘sucker punch’ that would have lai secondary to maneuvering to avoid a possible collision with another vehicle. My collision was akin to a formidable ‘sucker punch’ that would have laid one flat. It was however drivable save for the steering wheel which was cockeyed. Assessment at Darling’s revealed right front outer and inner tie rod ends bent, front lower control arm bent, front stabilizer links loose, rear trailing arm bushing separated and notation of rear heat shields that had rusted from their mounting hardware. Hence replacement of steering and suspension components and reattach exhaust heat shields. Secondary to waiting on parts my vehicle was unavailable to me for four days hour wise. The following individuals, Cooper, my service writer, Liz and her husband Joe, alignments, Joe, Service Manager and Ben, my preferred mechanic and the numerous persons that fielded my phone calls were beyond exemplary in keeping me informed and answering my queries. When it comes to Darling’s service department I must say inclusive of them all that they are the heart of Darling’s. I regard the whole of them as an extended family and have always been treated as such. Cooper is over and beyond the top as a service writer as are all of them. He is also personable, jovial and a pleasure. Ben is a impeccable mechanic to the the point that I prefer him over others which is unfair as one is not supposed to have favorites in life. He is a wonderful person. Joe performs unblemished alignments and Liz is infallible regarding all the ancillary issues regarding service. Joe, the service manager is above and beyond an exemplary person as well as a pleasure to interface with and can somewhat magically take care of issues. In closing; if I owned a dealership I would steal away the whole of Darling’s service department; everyone of them lock, stock and barrel. I also saw and spoke with Kurt who I had not seen in quite some time, so it was nice see and speak with him. More
