Then it seemed like the truck was struggling to shift so we took it to a shop and they hooked it to a machine and it showed several codes in the transmission. The mechanic said that who ever sold us the truck knew the transmission was bad that's why they put a new radiator on it because the old one would have been full of transmission fluid and anyone looking at the truck or test driving the truck would have know there was a problem. He said what happened was the radiator cooler tank ruptured and forced coolant into the transmission through the cooler lines. The coolant mixed with with transmission fluid and flowed back into the transmission and destroyed the transmission. He also said the radiator reservoir was full of transmission fluid and there was no way the transmission was good when they sold it to us.
