I have purchased my last 2 cars from Rhinelander Honda, and all of the employees were knowledgable and a pleasure to deal with. I also like getting my oil changed there for under 20 dollars! and all of the employees were knowledgable and a pleasure to deal with. I also like getting my oil changed there for under 20 dollars! My parents bought a 2012 Honda fit from Rhinelander Honda. The fit is a great car and I love it, the mpg is incredible. If you live near Rhinelander and plan on getting a Honda though don't go to Rhine Honda. The fit is a great car and I love it, the mpg is incredible. If you live near Rhinelander and plan on getting a Honda though don't go to Rhinelander Honda, they are the shadiest car dealer experience you could find right from the moment you walk on to the lot. It will be well worth the drive to go down to Wausau. The first thing I noticed was the attitude, from our salesman, Scott. He had this tone to him that rubbed me the wrong way, the first thing he asked us before showing us any cars was how much money we had. Throughout the visit he must have asked this four or five times, each time we politely told him that he should continue showing us what he has for cars and not to worry about that. Second we paid sticker price on the vehicle which would have been fine but they had to take it another step further and scam us out of 200 dollars for a phony dealer insurance policy that they lied to us to get us to agree to it saying it was only the warrenty we were signing. Mad dad went back the next day to correct them and they refused to give him 200 dollars back until he started yelling and calling the salesman a criminal in front of customers, it took that much to get them to give us the 200 dolars back that they scammed us out of. To top it off they started sending us phony UGENT NOTICE! letters trying to get us to sell them our $36,000, year old Toyota Rav4 for 1,000 dollars bonus cash. They had the opportunity to send an appology, maybe even a free car wash or something for all of the scams, lies, and xx they put us through, but know they send us fake notices that we need to sell them our Rav4 for fake money. Overall I would say that Rhinelander Honda is not a reputable business, at best their all thieves. More
Nightmare experience (I wrote a review on here a day or two after I had bought a car from Rhinelander Honda. I was excited about having the car, and had yet to run into (I wrote a review on here a day or two after I had bought a car from Rhinelander Honda. I was excited about having the car, and had yet to run into the many problems that ended up occurring. This is an updated review.) A number of the 5-star reviews on here are regarding the oil change that this dealership does for a low price, or their shop service. But I am writing this review for anyone who is interested in buying a used car from Rhinelander Honda. I had a nightmare experience with them. I highly recommend that you find another dealer and do not trust their word. This was my first time buying a vehicle from a dealer, and it ended up being the worst business experience I have ever had. The dealer's vehicle inspection paper said that everything was in good condition. I asked if I could purchase a warranty, and the salesperson said that he did not recommend it because it would be too costly and useless for me, based upon the cost and used condition of the car. Soon after my purchase, I discovered many problems. The AC didn't work and my mechanic said the air compressor pump was broken and that the dealer most likely sold it to me broken. The struts and a wheel bearing were bad and needed replacing. The battery died. The gas gauge stopped working. The moon roof leaked. They sold me the car with three tires from 3 different sets that needed to be replaced. All of these things happened within a few days to about 2 months. Their inspection paper had claimed that these things were in good condition. The WORST problem came when the winter arrived 6 months after my purchase. The heat was not working. My mechanic discovered that there were leaks in the manifold and at least one head gasket was blown. It would cost at least $1,000, he said, but added that it would probably be closer to $1,800 depending on what they found. I couldn't afford it. Around that time, I was diagnosed with cancer, and a friend of mine who is a mechanic knew that I was in a hard place and offered to fix everything for only the cost of the parts. Here is a list from him of some of what ended up needing to be done: Replaced upper and lower intake gaskets Replaced all upper and lower intake bolts Replaced back head gasket Replaced all back head bolts Replaced back exhaust gasket Replaced exhaust cross-over gaskets Replaced timing cover gasket Replaced thermostat and gasket Replaced fuel injector o rings. Replaced water pump o ring. Replaced thermostat bypass o rings Replaced Cam shaft oil seal Replaced both valve cover gaskets Replaced intake heater gasket When I initially wrote to the dealership to complain, the same salesperson who had told me that a warranty would be an extra, unnecessary cost to me, wrote, " there is no warranty on the car it is AS IS." He also wrote, "Any time you buy a car in the $5-7k range you have to accept that not everything is going to work like a brand new car, that is why it is less expensive." (My car cost over $9,000, actually. They don't list fees, loan interest, gap insurance, taxes, etc. on the price they write on their vehicle windows.) He asked me to bring the car in so that they could look at it. Because I had run into so many terrible problems with the car, which had apparently been lied about in the inspection paper, I did not want to have anything to do with them, and felt skeptical that they actually would have resolved the problems.
