Fraudulant Deceptive Dishonest Sales Staff and Owner We were looking for a Desert Fox toy hauler trailer for our buisiness because of the very good construction design and found a 2004 year model that wa We were looking for a Desert Fox toy hauler trailer for our buisiness because of the very good construction design and found a 2004 year model that was listed at D V Auto Center. On September 9th 2016 I called the listing number and spoke to Rob ( Robert Otis ) and expressed my interested in the trailer and that the listing pictures showed it to be in very good condition. Rob seemed very straight forward and professional and said that it was in good condition and was in fact his uncles ( Jason Otis ) personal trailer. I then asked if he could do a walk through over the phone and that I wanted to know if there was any damage. The walk through began on the outside of the trailer, I asked Rob if there was any visible damage to the exterior. Rob said that there was a dent in the bottom front panel and that he would text a picture which he did as shown in the phone text messaging. The dent was acceptable and looked to be easily fixed. I then asked the condition of the roof and he said that the roof was in good condition with no problems. ( after receiving the trailer it was discovered that there was extensive damage to the roof in the very back left corner of the trailer as shown in the photos ) later when asking Rob about this he explained that he did not go up on the roof. ) We then moved to the interior, I asked about the flooring and Rob explained that it was linolium. I asked if there was any damage to the flooring and he said that there was not. ( after receiving the trailer it was discovered that there were two tears in the linolium as shown in the photos ) I then asked if there was any water staining or damage to the ceiling and Rob said that there was none. ( after receiving the trailer it was discovered that there was damage consisting of bowing and two cracks to the ceiling below the damage to the roof in the left rear portion of the trailer ) I then asked if there was any damage to the cabinets because in these toy haulers at times the cabinets are beat up due to loading toys by the cabinets and he said that there was no damage, ( after receiving the trailer it was discovered that the bottom drawer in the kitchen area needed repair ) I then asked if if there was any other damage to the interior of the trailer and he said that the only damage was a separation strip on the very front wall was coming off near the corner and looked to be easily repairable. Rob explained that it was like that when Jason Otis bought it, Jason water tested it and nothing ever leaked there. ( After receiving the trailer it was discovered that there had been a leak and there was obvious damage to the night stand below the strip as shown in the photo which Rob said nothing about. There was also extensive damage to the interior of the wall aproximately three feet in both directions of the corner. The rot damage to the interior of the wall is easily detected by placing ones hand on the wall which I found in the first few minutes of inspecting the interior. ) After agreeing to a purchase price of $9500.00 the funds were bank transferred and I hired a shipper to deliver the trailer. The trailer was delivered on September 14th finding the interior damage to the front of the tailer immediately. When calling Rob after finding the damage he asked if I could have it looked at and I did so the following day. The trailer was taken to Anderson campers in which an inspection of the damages were assessed. The technition assessed the damage to the front and also found and assessed the damage to the rear roof area. After speaking to Rob he said that he conveyed the damages to Jason Otis and his uncle said that the driver hired to deliver the trailer must have caused it. As the inspection report shows the damage is more than a year old and was not recently done. I let Rob know that under no uncertain terms did I want to keep the trailer and offered to not only accept the $900.00 delivery loss but would also bring the trailer back free of charge just to settle the matter quickly as I needed to find another trailer for our job site. To avoid a long drawn out court battle I agreed not only to accept the $900.00 loss, return the trailer myself and also pay a $950.00 restocking fee. My wife and my self voiced our objection to the restocking fee to no avail. I have all text messages saved from Robert Otis, Photographs and inspection reports. We would at least like our $950.00 returned. To this date they have not returned the ILL GOTTEN GAINS. More
STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!! READ FIRST!! We got a 2006 Trailblazer priced at $9,500 and we put over 65% of the price down in cash. The check engine light turned on when we got home, the ac didnt work, the Trailblazer priced at $9,500 and we put over 65% of the price down in cash. The check engine light turned on when we got home, the ac didnt work, the gas gauge didnt work and we had problems with the alarm going off. Our salesman was Rob who is the nephew of Jason Otis (owner) & he failed to include my Truth and Lending statement in our paperwork & when we turned around & went back to get a copy, he told us his General Manager (Uncle) JASON OTIS locked the file in the cabinet and took the key with him on vacation. Then he kept pushing off fixing the situation cuz he was waiting for the financing to go through but I put a stop to that! I read the other reviews on here & I got the runaround about speaking to the GM Jason Otis also BUT YOU NEED TO CONTACT 3 ON YOUR SIDE, BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU, THE ATTORNEY GENERALS OFFICE, THE AZ STATE DEALERS LICENCE AND (I STRESS THIS!!) TAKE THEM TO SMALL CLAIMS COURT!! I have sent an email to the owner Jason Otis but Im pretty confident Rob will be checking that email and if they do not return my $400 (Rob returned all our money other than $400) that we were charged I will do all the above. I will update this review and let you all know how professional this situation was handled!! BEWARE OF THIS PLACE!! GO TO ANOTHER CAR LOT OTHER THAN HERE!! DO NOT BUY FROM HERE!!! THE OUTSIDE OF THE CARS ARE CLEAN & NICE BUT THE INTERNAL ASPECT IS JUNK!! It seems like they run over people alot but people give up & think they cant get their money back. NO WHERE IN THERE CONTRACT DOES IT STATE FEES SUCH AS RESTOCKING FEE, UNWIND FEE, DETAILING FEE OR THE CENTS PER MILAGE!! IVE MADE THE PHONE CALLS SO CALL FOR YOURSELF AND THEN TAKE THEM TO COURT! I CAN BET THAT THEY WROTE THE ONE POSITIVE REVIEW ON HERE! DO YOUR RESEARCH THAT I FAILED TO DO BEFORE COMING HERE! More
I purchased a 2009 Mazda5 from DV Auto Center in March of 2012. Here's my experience: When I called about the ad I saw on Craigslist, Brad anwered the phone. I told Brad that I really didn't want to pla 2012. Here's my experience: When I called about the ad I saw on Craigslist, Brad anwered the phone. I told Brad that I really didn't want to play the used car game, but that I was a serious buyer and there was a good chance I would purchase the car if the price was right. I live about 45 minutes away from this dealership. When I asked about the physical condition of the car I was given a verbal walk-around of sorts by Brad. He described each panel telling me what flaws he saw. This immediately gave me sense of trust that I don't normally get from car dealers. Most would just tell the customer whatever it would take to get them on the lot. Here was the salesman telling me about the dings, chips, and scratches he saw! Brad did the same for the interior. While not perfect (what used car is?), I thought the car would work for me. Next came discussion about the price. I asked Brad if we could skip the back and forth negotiations and just jump straight to the best out the door price they could give me and still make a fair profit. The price he came back with was fair, but a little higher than I was hoping. I told him if they could come down just a bit more I'd commit to buy. My offer was accepted and the out the door price I ended up paying was right around Kelley Blue Book private party retail. This was a nice surprise to be able to get that sort of price from a dealer. A friend drove me up to DV Auto where I got to meet Brad and my new used car in person. Brad's description was very accurate. The paperwork was quick and easy with no surprises. Before long we were on our way. A couple of days after buying the car it developed a serious oil leak. I think that this was just bad timing and that the car was fine when I drove it off the lot. There's no way to know for sure. I do know that if the car had been leaking to the same degree when I left the lot, I would have run out of oil before I got home. I called Brad to discuss this issue and mentioned that I had performed the repair myself, but that the part was very expensive. In the end, DV Auto agreed to pay for half of the cost of the part. This was the outcome I had hoped for. I was really impressed that the dealership agreed to help me out since, from a legal standpoint, they could have chalked it up to bad luck/timing and done nothing. Instead they chose a higher road over pure profit. I'm guessing not many car dealers would do the same thing given the same circumstances. Based on my experience with Brad and DV Auto center, and wholeheartedly recommend this dealership. More
