I am extremely disappointed with my experience at this dealership. I purchased a used 2021 Toyota Highlander on 11/21 and was issued a temporary New Jersey registration. I also signed a Power of Attorn dealership. I purchased a used 2021 Toyota Highlander on 11/21 and was issued a temporary New Jersey registration. I also signed a Power of Attorney authorizing the dealer to file my New York registration. As the temporary tag approached expiration, I repeatedly requested updates, but received little to no meaningful communication. Only after significant follow-up did the dealership disclose that there are issues with the vehicle’s title and that they do not currently have it. As a result, they have been unable to file my NY registration. This information was not disclosed at the time of sale. Even more concerning, instead of providing a lawful solution (such as a loaner vehicle or valid temporary operating authority), the dealership gave me a letter instructing me to show it to police if stopped while driving with an expired registration. This letter has no legal standing and puts the customer at risk of citation, towing, or impoundment. At this point, I am unable to legally operate a vehicle that I fully paid for, due entirely to dealer-side title issues. Communication has been slow, vague, and reactive rather than transparent and proactive. I would strongly caution potential buyers to confirm that the dealer has clear title in hand and can complete registration promptly before taking delivery. This has been a stressful and unacceptable experience. More
