Purchasing this vehicle from this dealership has actually been a pleasant experience. I wasn't harassed here unlike the other places I have been to. I started the process over the internet so when I actually went into the dealership I knew and they knew what I was looking for. The only thing that had to be done at the dealership was the financing part and that literally look like a half hour and I was out of there. They even stayed late and waited for me to get out of work to get there and pick up the car. Andrew was my sales rep and he was very nice and never pushy. I would recommend this dealership to anyone purchasing a Honda. More
I purchased a 2008 certified preowned accord from this dealer. The whole experience was easy from start to finish. Art and Anthony were extremely helpful in keeping me in my price range. I arrived at the dealership knowing the exact car and color I wanted. We checked if the car was still on the lot after seeing it on DCH Kay's website and were so excited to see it parked in the back. We color I wanted. We checked if the car was still on the lot after seeing it on DCH Kay's website and were so excited to see it parked in the back. We quickly went into the office and were met by Marc at the door. He greeted us and was very pleasant, and brought us to his desk to begin going over the car and negotiating a price. After going over numbers and financing options with one of the managers we agreed on a price and financing option that I am very confident no other Honda dealership in the area could have beat. I made a deposit on the vehicle and picked it up the next day. The overall process was quick, not stressful at all and I can definitely say that I will be coming back to DCH Kay for my future Hondas. One of the most important things to me that stood out was that the salesmen didn't hound us or jump on us when we walked in the door, the way it should be!! Take note other dealers!! I'm loving my new and beautiful Civic Coupe! THANKS!! More
David was straight forward and direct with the available stock and prices. He did not pressure us to choose the better equipped model, he simply took the time to explain what was unique or special about it stock and prices. He did not pressure us to choose the better equipped model, he simply took the time to explain what was unique or special about it. His approach sealed the deal and we ended up with the better equipped model not based on his suggestion or deal pressure, but based on his knowledge of the product. We knew what we wanted and had a price in mind to pay, so we worked from there and DCH accommodated us to the fullest extent. Mark in finance was very personable and nice as well! More
I had a very pleasant experience and was truly surprised with the ease of negotiation and friendliness of the Kay Honda staff. I've dealt with Honda Universe in Lakewood in the past and this purchase (lease) transaction was a complete 180 degree turn from all of those experiences. John Prudhomme was very responsive and helpful v and this purchase (lease) transaction was a complete 180 degree turn from all of those experiences. John Prudhomme was very responsive and helpful via email in preparation for my visit and was completely honest and upfront about the pricing. I also felt that my trade-in appraisal was very fair, and again very honest with full disclosure of all of the details. I felt very comfortable completing this deal, knowing that I had gotten the most I could for my trade and that I had gotten the best price possible. John helped me with my goal of downsizing from a CR-V to a brand new Civic with all of the same luxury features inside, but saving close to $300 in monthly payments. Thanks to John and Anthony in Finance for a stress free transaction and for getting me in and out of the dealership quickly on a Thursday night with no headaches and a beautiful new vehicle. More
Most car dealerships are difficult to work with because they try to pressure you into buying a car. Armando was very nice and easy to deal with. Prior to visiting this dealer I spoke to Pat Connelly on the phone because I wanted to know if it would be worth the drive out, which is over an hour and a half from my house. My wife and I were interested the phone because I wanted to know if it would be worth the drive out, which is over an hour and a half from my house. My wife and I were interested in ‘08 Odyssey that fit what we were looking for, but my concerns were condition of the car and trade in value of my car. I really didn’t want to travel all the way to this dealer with my family if it wasn’t going to be worth it. I gave Pat the details on my 2009 CRV, he put me on hold while he checked with “his guy”, and came back on the phone and said the trade in value I got online of $21,000 (Nada, Kelly blue book, black book all had the trade in value b/w $20,500 and $21,500) was reasonable. So Saturday morning my wife and I put the 2 kids (2yrs old and 1 month old) in the car and headed down. Finally get there after 2 hours, test drove the car, and started the negotiation process. First thing Pat tells me is my car is worth 17,500!! He said he usually works across the street and the guy there told him the trade in value of $21K was reasonable. Now we were at this dealer and the manager here is telling him its worth less. He said they use the Galves guide which is always less than the values that you can research online. We continued to try to negotiate but it was useless. Based on numerous valuation sources my feeling was that the difference in value between the 2 vehicles was $2,500 - $3,000. I offered $3,500 ($20,500 for the trade, $24,000 for the Odyssey) which I thought was a fair deal as it probably represented a $500-$1,000 profit + any potential upside on my car. I told Pat that I thought a $1,000 profit was a fair deal and he said he didn’t consider that a great deal at all. It should also be noted that the trade is in excellent condition, no accidents, non smoker, clean carfax, and dealer maintained, while the Odyssey was in good condition but nowhere near as clean as my car. I understand that dealerships are in business to make money, but really this whole deal was ruined by the fact that the trade in value was so far off. Pat was really unprofessional by playing that bait and switch game. Basically this whole experience was my worst nightmare and exactly what I was trying to avoid. I am not really upset that a deal couldn’t be done, but more so that there was a total disregard for mine and my family’s time by misrepresenting the value of my trade on the phone. This all could have been avoided had Pat been honest upfront. This dealer’s website has a link to KBB trade in valuations. My car books out in KBB for $21,025 considering mileage and condition. That is very misleading and poor business practice if they are not willing to be close to those values on trades. As a matter of fact, upon returning home I order a daily access to the Galves Guide online and my vehicle booked out for $19,675 in that book, so their offer of $17,500 was ridiculous. All in all we wasted 6 hours driving back and forth and spending time in the dealership. My time with my family is very valuable to me and I really have a very big problem with the total disregard for that I experienced with this situation. I have spoken to a variety of people at this dealership since this experience including the general manager, the used car manager and the new car manager. After this experience my wife and I decided we wanted to buy a new Odyssey as most of the used ones we had seen were just not in good enough condition for us. George, the GM, said he was going to try to make up for the problems we had by getting us a great deal. Unfortunately, once I spoke with the new car sales manager, Bill, the deal offered to me was even more insulting considering all of the time wasted in the dealer and on the phone – he was going to sell me the odyssey for $35,900 and “come up” to $19,000 on my trade. Meanwhile if you go on truecar.com there are plenty of dealers who will sell this car for $35,000 with no negotiation and give you the true value for your trade. Bill finally tried one last time and dropped his price to $35,000 and still kept the trade in value at $19,000. This represents a $1,500+ profit on the new car (invoice is $34,000 + 500 factory to dealer incentive) and a minimum of $1,000 profit on my car considering it can be wholesaled out for $20,000 and could get even more if put through the Honda certification process. A $2,500 profit deal is certainly not a great deal and in my opinion I was expecting much more based on the management’s original promise to “make this right”. Today I drove to Massachussets and purchased the Odyssey from another dealer who gave me $20,000 for my trade and sold a 2011 EXL REs brand new to me for $33,800 out-the-door (not including tax/title/reg)!!! A full $2,200 cheaper than the final price DCH offered me to "make up"; for their mistakes and clearly many thousands less than what they would have done had I just walked in off the street. Please shop around before going into this dealer and be very sure to know the value of your trade. These guys will certainly take you for a ride if you let them! Stay away! I will be telling everyone I know to avoid all DCH dealerships! If you want to read about a good experience please read my review of Colonial Honda of Dartmouth. More
Simple, no nonsense and Plain dealing. No Pressure to buy and no tricks. I got the best price among all the dealership and I never had to negotiate below the quoted price. Other dealerships doubted the price and no tricks. I got the best price among all the dealership and I never had to negotiate below the quoted price. Other dealerships doubted the price by Kay Honda. No internal competition among the staff. every one respected each other. Its like a family in there. One thing don't expect to be treated like a king in there. Its all help yourself. (coffee, drinks etc.) Because they only focus on what's needed to buy the car and nothing more. More
