When figuring the used car trade in value dealers rely mainly of two or three values, neither of which is the Kelly Blue Book trade in value. Kelly Blue Book or KBB is more for consumers looking for a ballpark, rough estimate of what their trade is worth. Of course, there may be some dealers that use KBB to figure their trade in values. However, our establishment does not have a partnership with a financial institution that relies on KBB for established price values. KBB will not purchase your vehicle based on their information, however Auto Trader has a buying site that will guarantee the value placed on your vehicle based on your exact detailed description of the vehicle. KBB is a free service that provides consumers with an idea of a vehicles value within 20%, give or take, of real time value. Car dealers typically use two or three professional sources to figure trade in values: Black Book: Used by financial institutions. Galves: Used as a wholesale guide of choice for Auto Dealers within the Northeast in which uses real life, real time auction prices for a specific geographic territory. The Manheim Market Report (MMR): The MMR is an auction report that averages together hundreds and thousands of vehicle sales (nationally or regionally) to help car dealers determine what they would be able to buy a comparable car for at auction. Dealers compare the MMR sales averages to the auction sales average and then subtract the expected reconditioning costs from that figure. Whenever there is a case in which there is limited data provided, we will contact potential wholesale buyers regarding the vehicle being appraised. We gave you the best number we received based on your vehicle make, model, trim level and mileage. Which was given us by our wholesale buyer. Your vehicle estimate was given based on the demand within the current market at this time. At this time the CR-V you inquired about has been sold.
